Southall has gone, unless he is planning on breaking in this morning. Passwords changed. The fact that he embarrassingly asked Nimer to pay his £1.250 legal costs for that (club) letter suggests to me that he still hasn’t got a brass razoo, and hasn’t got the means to take Nimer on in the Courts. He a classic bluffer and this time someone has called his hand early.Goodbye, conman tosser. There are still big question marks about Nimer. He has handled himself appallingly this well. Who is going to want to lend him money after this ? He’s been far from an innocent party in terms of his own expenses, and the minimal amount of his own money he has put in has long gone. The Southall camp are adamant that Nimer is skint. We are far from out of the woods yet.
The EFL should be facing scrutiny right now, but they don't seem to be accountable to anyone. If Nimer turns out to be a wrong 'un the EFL will wash their hands of us. One way or the other we should find out before too long.
I still hold out hope in Nimer - if this was a stunt he cooked up, he could have accepted the phony resignation Southall posted for him on tuesday, and left this for the fans and the thief to deal with. But as it stands, he is still trying to wrest control of the club back. I spent all the Duchatalet years trying to imagine what was going through RD's head. as was posted earlier, Southalls brief reign netted him an on loan-flat, a nice car and a reputation as an utterly dishonest human being. What did he think would happen? And when he tried to stop Nimers lawyers from checking the books, to what end? Nimer can shake the doubts by taking charge and putting money in. If he doesn't, I give up understanding club owners. Out of interest, and self employed/retired Charlton fans going to pop into the Valley this morning to see if Matt Southall turns up? Might be a real show on offer if he tries to forcé his way back in.
