I have a bit of history, such as making a fortune out of black bin liners and wellies at wet festivals...i was under no illusion that 500% profit was remotely fair, but that's capitalism I guess. I think the kid annoyed me because he thought of it and I didn't
Cancer is disgusting . Mrs J's oldest sister ( 66 OLD ! ) Passed away from Liver cancer this morning . She ate healthily , drank sensibly . Recently retired and had just become a grandmother for the first time
I'm not looking for sympathy , but , as you say , it doesn't discriminate . Life is utter **** at times , it honestly is .
Wont apply to flights leaving the UK as according to the big bosses theres nothing really to worry about.
Kuwait has almost shut down now. Public holiday to the end of the month. Airport closed last night. Everywhere’s closed and we’re getting daily texts from the government to stay home unless essential. All a good time!
A comment from Jeremy Hunt should have people worried about the Coronavirus. I am assuming that his figures are accurate but he has said. “If 5% of the population are infected and 5% of them require intensive care, that will be 150,000. We only have 4,000 intensive care beds”. Scary. Apologies if his figures are wrong.
People should be aware that the most dangerous thing about this virus is, the inability to give everyone the treatment they need will be the cause of the most deaths. That is scary.
This is what worries me. With my wife’s medical situation being what it is, she won’t be prioritised for intensive care. I am ****ting myself that I might be the person that infects her, causing her massive problems and potentially to die.
You are not alone with the fear. My father in law has had a lung condition all winter, he is ****ting himself right now. Already talking about self isolating for the next six months......but how can someone even do that?
It's probably a fear that most of us have, I'm not worried about myself because chances are I'll be fine. I'm 30 and relatively fit and healthy. However I wouldn't want to pass it on to my Dad who although not old, is 65 and has health problems. I could already have it and not realise and pass it on before I even knew I had it, that's the scary thing. All we can do is be extra vigilant about our own behaviours, coughing and sneezing onto our arm. I open doors with my jumper or coat rather than my hand, but if I do use my hand then I make sure to wash my hands afterwards. Trying not to touch your own face as much as possible. Regular and thorough hand washing etc. Minmise our risks and hope for the best. I was on the Isle of Wight ferry yesterday for work and there were several ill looking and sounding people coughing and spluttering. Could be nothing to do with the virus, but I'm now very aware of other peoples health when I'm near them. Theres only so much you can do whilst leading a 'normal' life though.
How many of those 4000 beds are available and have sufficient staff to support those in need? Not just virus patients there's many other reasons for intensive care. Is this another triumph for austerity?
Same here. My son, 26, has severe asthma (spent significant time in hospital each of the last 2 years because of it) and this could easily do for him. I couldn't live with myself if I happen to get it and pass it on to him.
