Football is not in the entertainment industry though is it. It's a sport, and the idea in any game is to win ! 0-1 come on city !
If the idea was pure entertainment there would be no goalkeepers or defenders (no doubt the yanks have already proposed this.) The entertainment is a bi-product of the competitiveness and that's the way it should be. I actually enjoy the tension of some 0-0 draws more than Ossie Ardiles style goal-fests without a defence in sight.
Thought Blackpool were nicknamed the Tangerines. But usually everyone calls them the donkey lashers anyway.
I am hoping for a 3-0 win today with Waggy getting a hat-trick, but in my heart I am expecting another 1-0, just hope it is to the Tigers
Actually, I fell asleep about an hour before kick-off. Though in my defence, I had been out for at least four hours and it was already 2.00am.
Why is does it sem to be acceppted that to score more goals you must let more in? If the defence is sorted then you have the ideal platform for the midfield to create from and the forwards to find space and runs to score goals from. Last week we made plenty of chances - we simply faileed to convert them; that has SFA to do with our defence. Entertainment and results - that what we want!
That'll be the 5 that Brighton got, I didn't watch the game but I'm pretty sure the TWS ones will have been fair. In fact four of them should have been reds
The thing is, as soon as The Beeb or anyone make an error in a match report (see the Waghorn on the wrong team incident t'other week) or preview people on here literally 5h1t themselves with derision. I was just addressing the balance somewhat.
Professional sport is most definitely part of the entertainment industry. Ask Messi and Ronaldo if they think they are entertainers.
Is there evidence to suggest the only way to win trophies is by playing negative football? How ironic you should pick a time to offer that view when by far best team in the world is also by far the most entertaining.
