Is it just me or does this dick keep his head (both of them) buried in the sand. Week after week this âFootball Expertâ to quote the BBC, not only has a poor average of predicting results but would have you believe Sunderland will only ever lose or draw at best regardless of the opposition. This weekâs insightful piece of journalism. Lawro's predictions Thursday, 22 September 2011 15:48 UK Norwich v Sunderland (2000 BST) It was a great win for Norwich at Bolton last week, if a little fortuitous. Maybe we've not given them as much praise as they deserve. Sunderland look like a different team now after that big 4-0 win against Stoke. A draw would certainly keep both teams ticking over. Prediction: 2-2 LEADERBOARD SCORE Shaun Edwards 11 Gary Oldman 8 Richard Archer 8 Mark Lawrenson (average) 5 Jimmy Anderson 4 Samuel L Jackson 2 Lawro's best score: seven points (week three). Lawro's worst score: three points (week five). http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/football_focus/15017088.stm
I agree a draw away at a newly promoted team would be a decent result. I think he's an alright pundit personally. Shame he tans so damn much, he looks like a battered old brown shoe.
Uhhh, what's wrong with that? You guys have had a bad run of games and then one good game against Stoke at home. Now you're ranting and raving about Lawro predicting a draw when you're heading to Norwich away and have yet to win an away game? Don't get ahead of yourself mate.
We're unbeaten in PL in last 4 away games - Won -v- Bolton, West Ham; Drawn -v- Liverpool, Swansea. Total abuse of statistics but should be a confidence-booster for the lads. No reason to hope for something out of the match - although not necessarily expect a win.
Fully agree. Want us to win 6-0 but if you go in for this prediction lark, 2-2 seems to me a fair, even generous appraisal for us.
No harm in being optimistic, but I find it ridiculous if someone actually attacks a pundit for predicting a draw in an away match, given the series of results so far this season. It seems entirely fair. The only reason it could be seen as unfair is if this Kiwi guy thinks that Sunderland should be heading to Norwich and thrashing them at their home ground. God knows what this thread would have said if Lawro had predicted a loss. Hooooly ****. If it was Newcastle heading to Norwich and Lawro predicted anything other than a defeat I'd be pretty shocked to be honest.
I can't stand his little squeeky queer voice. Another BBC employee that's a complete waste of space. Your license fee is just another tax in rip off Britain & the useless bastards waste it paying knobs like him & that exciting bloke Sheera & that boring, drolling, talk in slow motion Hansen. MOTD2 is even worse with that stupid bloke on from N Ireland.
He is terrible at predicting results. Funny to see Gary Oldman on 8, last week when he was on footy focus it was apparent he wasn't the most knowledgeable about football, for us though he predicted us winning 3-1 saying "we want goals goals goals" not far off there Commissioner Gordon. He's a legend.
I know it will be an eaasy win for us. I worry it will be an easy win for them. I think it may be a draw. Think I have everything covered there
If we play similar to how we did against Stoke then there is no reason we cannot get the win. We have looked solid on the defensive side this season and are hard to score against its just at the other end of the pitch that we need to improve on and the 4goals against Stoke was a great start to that. A draw is a fair enough result I suppose but we will be going there aiming for the 3points no doubt about it
I think Lawro and Chappaz are both the same kind of bloke. Both absolute ****ers keen on giving opinions about Sunderland that no ****er either wants to hear, or are remotely interested in.
Your a legend Chappaz. With so much to say about football, & in particular Sunderland why don't you get a job at the BBC as you seem to know a lot.
Cest - That was my intended point. I read the BBC most days to catch up on UK news & with a love of football go to that page as well. Having read his comments over a number of years I can tell those that didn't already know he's got a history of dismissing anything to do with Sunderland. Being the BBC I'd expect a little better or should I know better. He's also got it in for Everton at times which while I don't know much about them to me demonstrates the talent of the man.
My personal opinion of Lawro is that he has such a hard on for Liverpool and never has a good word to say about us, so in my book he's door knob. Actually don't know many pundits from BBC or Sky who have anything good to say about us. I take what Lawro says with a pinch of salt.
