His original post says that he trusts the professionals. I’m taking him at his word.

I agree with Greta when she says we should listen to the experts. You say we should trust the professionals.

The professionals have formed a consensus that there’s a problem.

Do you trust the professionals or not?

I can't help think "Greta Thundercunt" every time I read her name. I'm not even sure why this is. Clearly I must sub consciously think she is a massive ****. Even though I agree with her and respect her efforts.

I'm largely the same. Have a very visceral dislike of her but respect her for single mindedly saying something which needs to be said.

I understand that there has been a desire from her side of things not to focus too much on her aspergers/OCD/selected mutism. She doesn't want the agenda to switch from climate to her mental health issues. Admirable. The problem is that as her one woman crusade has gathered momentum in the media, public interest in her and her story also gathers momentum. Her aspergers/OCD/selected mutism undoubtedly is hindering her ability to connect with everyone which is completely understandable. Its the modern way to not really listen to the message and instead listen to the person delivering it. If people don't have buy in on the person, they'll generally dismiss their message.

Although that last bit really makes me wonder about Trump. How the **** did he overcome such a ****y public profile to end up in charge of the free world <laugh>

Actually, I think her odd personality works in favour of her message. She has an unnerving Joan of Arc-ness about her which grates like finger nails across a backboard but makes it hard to deflect from what she's saying.

As for Trump, his success if because he's a buffoon, not in spite of it. Like Bojo.

This really isn't a new phenomenon. ****s have always risen to the top and it's not just Trump. It's a story as old as time.

    Trump gets to be president
Bojo gets to be Prime Minister
    Ashley gets to be rich
Albert gets to be a mod

    POV.

To a gun-toting racist in Texas, Trump's "****ty public profile" is due to his money - wait, didn't he just live "the American Dream"? Plus he's white, male, believes in MAGA (More American Guns & Ammo) and his wife sure is hot. And white.

Anyway, on topic, Greta is a deeply unlikable, preachy little ****er. My local town now has Extinction Rebellion graffiti. The irony of using an aerosol canister to spray chemicals onto a wall is clearly lost on some. What's really interesting is the emissions over Beijing since the Corona beers got opened. Little odd that we have:

    - Global overpopulation issues.
    - Localised overpopulation and strains on public services, primarily from the elderly and the unhealthy.
    - Global warming issues also due to mass overpopulation and demands
    - Virus pops up, everyone's in quarantine, thousands of old, sick people dead and many more likely to die.

    Odd.

Are you saying you think this outbreak is deliberate?

If the idea was population reduction, surely they could have thought up something more effective than what appears to be bog standard flu, with the exception of no jab being available.

Not going to pretend to be an expert, but not sure it's bog standard. I know the death rate will be higher because we have no in-built resistance to it, but it does seem both more contagious (about three times) and more able to exploit weaknesses to effect the lungs. I do agree that it seems like a poor choice of deliberate population control though, at least from a western point of view. So far in most western countries it is very much a middle class disease, effecting those with the money to travel and go on cruises, etc. I am sure that will change if it does become community spread, but for now it's not exactly wiping out the usual suspects from population control conspiracies.

Don't worry the methods the Chinese will use to stimulate the economy after all the disruption will far outweigh the positive impact Corona has had <ok> That conspiracy will be debunked in no time.

The conspiracy theory that this is a man made virus to tackle over population and the old feckers living too long is very far fetched indeed. As much as I like the idea of it. Given the number of scientists who are studying it and now saying it is not man made but has come from nature, that is a lot of people in on the conspiracy!

Sorry, I wasn't implying it was a conspiracy. I meant "isn't it interesting that nature seems to find a way."

For most people - yes they will recover and hopefully not suffer too much with it, but in terms of the big picture it's so much worse than standard flu. People arguing differently are failing to appreciate that the new virus hasn't been around long enough to spread as far as flu... Because it's new. Pretty dense thought processes going on and sadly that will keep it spreading faster until the double digit IQs and the ostriches realise and face up to how bad this is and start acting appropriately.
