He left Weymouth around 3 years ago. I don't think that he is living locally but he may have property here. I have also seen his son Chris (Strictly Come Dancing winner) in Verdi's.
Just read in the post that Chelsea are doing some fund raising for the miners who died last week, just want to thank them for helping the families of this tragedy
You insist on making comparisons with Man U!! They are a side with maximum points and are flying. They are likely to walk the League this season at this rate. Ivor is correct. It was a very brave display by AVB at Old Trafford and they could have won that game on another day. If you think Chelsea won't be in the running for a top four place it's you that is deluded, Phil. As someone else said on this thread, we're playing Chelsea Football Club not Chelsea Pensioners. Some perspective is called for. Of course we can get something out of the game but they will have to be well below par and our lot will have to step up. Hope we can.
The Only deluded ones are supporters like you who could think, that Chelsea could have got something from that game on another day, they were never going to win that game, and Chelsea's tactics were naive to say the least, and if you read John Hollins view posted by Scottswan, you'd see he is pointing out the same issues, so do yourself a favour and sit down will you!...................... please log in to view this image
Well spotted Scott, now there's a man that sees the weaknesses in this Chelsea team, well said Hollins, and I'm sure Brendan does as well, let's not give them too much respect, they are beatable, and if we play to our best, we can win this game!.................. please log in to view this image
Why such aggression? You really ought to control that temper of yours or I'll be asking Mayhill Boi to come back. You are in a minority. Doesn't mean you're wrong, but your view flies in the face of most neutral fans and the TV pundits who praised Chelsea for the way they approached that game. Seem to recall there were plenty on here that were heavily critical of Mancini and Man City following the Charity Shield and look what happened. Ivor is one of the most respected posters on here who rarely gets it wrong, and yet again he's right on this. I'm not saying I don't think we can get something but the odds are against us. That's the magic of football, though isn't it? I'd love us to get at least a point. Chelsea may not be playing as well as in recent seasons for sure, but to continually judge and criticise teams based on their performances against the likes of Man U is facile.

There's no aggression, if you can dish it out in the manner you do, then you should be able to receive it in like manner, now sit down will you and stop making the place look untidy, and by the way Ivor is not always right, he was wrong on Panstado, and he could well be wrong on this too, as could I, but I will stick with my gut feeling that this Chelsea team can be beaten by us, and that's how we should approach this game as I'm sure Rodgers will, let's not bull up these top four too much aye, they are not invincible, ask Barcelona how easy it was to beat Manu! We are in the Prem now, so start raising the bar please............... please log in to view this image
I agree with Phil, these are good teams in the premier league, but they are beatable, and no respect should be shown to them at all, and I don't mean that in any manner other than we should be going into each game for the win, parking a bus in our half is against our philosophy of playing the game, we should attack! That is the best form of defence, if we lose we lose, but I feel we will win more games by doing just that.
i have to agree with hit the road on this, Chelsea will be pushing both Manchester clubs all the way this season. I have put £10 on a swans win only because of the generous odds the bookies are offering but i don't expect i will collect but you have to give it a go don't you ....I will be over the moon if we get anything and i will donate my winnings to the miners fund......come on you swans......
Dai - always liked you. Well I agree that we should have a real go at them and I've also agreed that they are beatable but to mention Swansea comparisons with Barca and Man U is laughable. Whatever happened to a healthy combination of positivity and humility? Phil: If by 'dishing it out' you mean disagreeing with you then so be it. You may not like my views but they are held by others on here whether you like it or not and using phrases like "sit down will you and stop making the place look untidy" and "do yourself a favour and sit down will you!" is not conducive to decent debate.
I think, if someone gave me a million pound but I HAD to bet it on either Swansa or Chelsea to win, I know that I'd be putting it on Chelsea! That's football though, anyone can beat anyone so if someone is saying "So and so will DEFINITELY do this or that" then that's daft because there are no guarantees of anything! Aldershot to beat Man Utd in the League Cup?
"I'd love it if they beat them. Really love it." Scott - don't think anyone is saying anything will "definitely" happen, not even the all seeing oracle that is Phill to be fair to him. All about opinions at the end of the day.
Just heard about it on Football Focus. They are having collection buckets around the stadium and the club are going to match whatever gets raised. What an great gesture
Just like to say that it's amazing what Chelsea are doing to contribute to the fund, not only the collection, but matching the collection is something else. I was a close friend of Garry Jenkins, and I know how much these gestures mean to the families, not just financially, but emotionally it's a massive help to know how many people are behind them
