Perhaps Farke will stop being so stubborn and makes changes at half time? But you are right Rick, we have struggled all season against the more physical sides.
The goal was nothing to do with Sheffield physicality. It was rank poor defending. Nobody closing down in midfield, leaving the Sheffield player all the time in the world to cross, and Billy Sharp completely unmarked to head it in.
Four minutes stoppage time after a player has spent three minutes rubbing his head for no reason and both teams have made three subs? This game is ridiculous
This is total rubbish I’m afraid Robbie. Sheffield United have completely outmuscled, outniggled and outhustled us today. You must be watching a different game.
The replay clearly showed there was no contact on McBurnie - it was pure cheating to add to the thuggery the ref completely ignored. If you want to watch a team like them you're welcome to Robbie, but I never would. The ball was 80% over the line but just wouldn't go in. Have we had any luck go our way this season?
So once again we face a team with their keeper playing out of his skin. I wonder what Robbie's opinion is of that, probably DF's fault
Credit to Farke he made changes early and went with 3 strikers and Vrancic trying to get the equaliser . Should of got at least a point from that one.
Yep, the commentators were banging on about how good Sheffield United were, but to be honest other than their goal, from an excellent cross, I don’t remember Krul being threatened really. Of the five best chances of the match, we had three of them (the goal, McClean clearing off the line, Pukki hitting outside of the post, the goal line scramble and Lewis’s volley). We looked solid defensively I think. Hanley was exceptional. Frustrating result but not like the Wolves match.
B'mouth, Watford and West Ham all lost. Villa play at a flagging Leicester on Monday. Still plenty of excitement left in the season.
Ho hum. Wilder has our card and clearly the ref's. Fleck should have been warned early on. Grant stood up brilliantly to the physicality of the oppo and the team should have followed his mark. We still have a flicker of hope to be 18th on the last day of the season with a long shot of 17th. A kind of Buendia long shot a la the 94th min today.
I didn't say we weren't being outmuscled Rob; we are outmuscled by virtually every team we play -- which is why Emi spends so much time on his backside, throwing his arms in the air. What I said was that the goal didn't come from anyone being outmuscled, or outniggled, or outhustled for that matter. It came because we failed to close down Lundstram, leaving him with all the time in the world to put in his cross, and left Billy Sharp, of all people, with a completely free header.
Sheffield controlled the game. We were outplayed and out-thought. We've now played them 5 times since "Busgate" and the record is 4 Sheffield wins and one match drawn.
Nobody's fault Dave. It was just Henderson doing what he does pretty much every week. The idea that keepers play "out of their skins" when they play us isn't borne out by the facts. Look at any list ranking EPL keepers; the ones you "blame" for our failure to score are invariably high up on that list!

I wonder what Robbie's opinion is of that, probably DF's fault [/QUOTE] 1 Dean Henderson 9 An outstanding treble save from point blank range kept United in the game with 10 minutes to go. Made two other top drawer saves on top of that. Possibly his best game this season. 6 Chris Basham 7 Blades needed their defender in the second half as Norwich pushed bodies forward and Bash was excellent. 12 John Egan 7 Solid as ever in the heart of the back three, made numerous blocks to keep Norwich at bay 5 Jack O'Connell 7 Was unlucky not score in first half when his shot went inches the wrong side of the post. 2 George Baldock 7 Had more defensive duties today, particularly up against the lively Drmic in the second half but he was more than equal to the task 16 Ollie Norwood 6 Guilty of giving ball away early on but was much improved after the break. 7 John Lundstram 8 Back in the team and was excellent, got forward well and gave United a real purpose going forward, breaking from midfield, unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions and it was his cross on a plate for Sharp to head home. 4 John Fleck 8 Midfielder was excellent in the first half but didn't see as much of the ball in the second as Norwich pushed forward. However, he was instrumental in springing the counter attack and getting United going forward. 3 Enda Stevens 6 Did really well down the left in the first half producing some telling crosses but limped off injured on the hour. 9 Oli McBurnie 7 Worked his socks off as ever, was full of running and linked up play well 10 Billy Sharp 8 Captain produced an outstanding display. Was in the right place at the right time to give United the lead with a bullet header and was full of running all afternoon.
Disagree. We defended magnificently today. One gem of a whipped cross from quite deep, a position where it is very rare to be dangerous, undid us. It’s the premier league - at least once a match a player does something incredible. The reason we failed to win today was because for the two periods of 25 minutes where we dominated in each half, we failed to score.
