What do you mean ranks? I left the army in 1995. If you want a breakdown of my police career then it went Police Constable, Detective Constable and then Detective Sergeant in the UK and then over here it went PC PC 1st Class, Senior Constable and currently Sergeant. What rank should I be in your opinion?
Back in the dark ages, (60s) the driving instructor offered my parents (it was 17th birthday present) a guaranteed £10 pass. Ie if I failed the test he would give lessons till I past. I sat my test in Blyth, no hills or dodgy cambers (therefore in his opinion the easiest test centre)and I got through (I lived in Jarrow). The instructor had a few greyhounds and the lessons often consisted of going to the stadium with his dogs. He assessed you after one lesson if he offered the £10 guarantee or not, I had a motorcycle at the time and had passed the test for that
My favourite hate of today is the people in charge of large, powerful vehicles they are just not capable of driving properly, running through red lights, barging their way across junctions, sitting about a yard from your rear bumper, singularly engaged in the most important thing of the day....and why can't you understand that!!....to get little Susie to dancing classes on time!
yeah but that brings geet big snakes, killer spiders and bush fires. I will stick with worms, hedgehogs and frost marra
Ah right. I’ll try harder to get promoted again. Just out of interest what is an officer rank, just so when I get there I’ll know. Us plods aren’t too clever you see.
anyone above Sergeant, not from the UK, nor named after a Scottish twat, doesn't carry a gun around at work and hates hot weather
Someone with pips. I think the police show rank in the same way as the forces. Ranks get stripes, officers get pips. Of course I could well be wrong.
I don't think a Sergeant Major (regimental or otherwise) is classed as an officer though. I'm open to being corrected.
Got you. Ok, once I become an Inspector I’ll let you know. If it helps I was recommended for officer training in the army, although I never took them up in the offer. Does that make me any better? I crave your acceptance if you hadn’t noticed. And a Sergeant Major is a Warrant Officer so no, they’re not commissioned officers.
I don't think that if you are from the UK you can't be classed as an officer, nor if you are called Jimmy Krankie, nor afraid of heat. ah bollocks, you've already been corrected
