@luvgonzo I just remembered another plant I use to have in the ground at my old house, but i've looked it up and you can grow it in a BIG pot. It's what I know as (red bark) 'dogwood' or it's real name Cornus Alba 'Elegantissima' In the summer this is the foilage but bear with me and read on... please log in to view this image But in the autumn/winter, once all the foilage drops off, you are left with a beautiful red wood, and this is genreally what people actually have the plant for... please log in to view this image
The little ones are £30 but once they are established and that trunk gets all thick and gnarly they go for loads of money. please log in to view this image £1000 each.
I'm having a lot done so it'll have to be the £20-£30 trees. I was just wondering about putting it into quite a large pot?
I don't mean as big as that picture, I'm not explaining properly. Are the little skinny trees the same as the larger trunk ones?
I’d put it in a larger pot than it comes with, just to give the roots some extra space to grow, but it wouldn’t have to be huge. If you don’t manage to kill it, you could then repot again in a few years time.
Yes pretty much. Although it might be a slightly different variety. Young trees = small Old trees = big
