...I think Liverpool should be recognised as Premier League Champions now, and be presented with the trophy at a match (preferably at Anfield) so their supporters can celebrate.

Winning the Premier League after a match with no fans in the stadium will be the ultimate meaningless gesture.

    Football without fans is nothing.
Personally, I would cancel the rest of the season rather than have two months of matches played in empty grounds.

And to be fair to the Clubs currently in relegation positions, I would cancel relegations and promotions this season as well.
I admit that would be tough on teams at the top, but in my view it's better than playing matches in empty grounds.

All that would accomplish is compliance with procedure.
    Boxes ticked by jobsworths.
Football does not exist to comply with the authorities who run it, or the corporate concerns who make vast sums of money from it.
Football exists for fans who go and watch it.

It won’t make any difference to @TC (Lovely Geezer)

Judging by their attendances, Millwall are playing behind closed doors already.

On a serious note, my place of work, a UNESCO world heritage site no less, is at risk of closure.

I shall be working from home :emoticon-0118-yawn:

I can not agree Lardi, if the Prem League is unable to be finished then it should be cancelled and all the games played to date considered Friendlies. That's the only fair way to do it <ok>

    I can't agree with that.

I would rather drop my gesture to teams in the drop zones and say finish the season now - and allow all the promotions and relegations based on how the leagues stand - than say that Liverpool's position in the Premier League is null and void, and they achieved nothing this season.

Or as a last alternative, I would rather the season was completed behind closed doors and Liverpool were given their trophy by a bloke in a hazmat suit in an empty stadium. Even that mockery would be better than just cancelling the entire season.

I know the first option won't fly as all the relegated teams would be straight on to their lawyers.
But finishing the season in empty grounds is less drastic than just voiding the whole thing.

I would point out that if the 2019-20 season ended up never officially happening, I would like my ST money back please.

I think they should do that after this weekends fixtures - Stoke v Hull and you v Boro would be the only games that mattered in this division!
