Oof. Feel for you mate being there for that. I’ve binned off getting cup tickets and paying more money out, if the players don’t wanna turn up then neither will I. Ever since the price increase I’ve just felt so off with the club. Sold my Wolves ticket last weekend too, partly because I knew I’d be hungover from my cousin’s 30th but partly because I half expected that result. Literally just trying to wish the games by and get this season done with. Seriously contemplating binning more tickets off tbh, might as well make a bit of money back while I can.
At least on the bright side we have only 10 league games and (probably) just one 1 CL game remaining. Then we can enjoy our summer. Hopefully.
If United got through I was looking forward to the Q/F tie with spurs. Were the spuds robbed again @vimhawk ? Should Norwich been awarded those penalties mate?
Public service announcement : Spurlocks avatar has been changed for one week. Thankyou for your time.
Knocked out the FA Cup. Dier goes Rambo on a motherfucker. Spurly gets done with the avatar bet. What a night.
You all know I’ve been reasonably positive about Mou. I’m young and I only remember us winning the most recent League Cup. That’s my only memory of us actually having a meaningful triumph. I so desperately want more. I desperately want to believe that Mou will make us win something. It’s all I’m clinging too, though the hope is gone for this season, barring a CL miracle (another!). I believe we will win something if José is here until the end of next season. Even if it’s another League Cup I don’t care. For years under Poch we all said “we just need to get the first one over the line and that will open the floodgates” well we never did. I love the man for what he did for us but he lost the mentality by the end. Too often we just seemed happy to be there. There is so much work that needs to be done to this squad and to blame everything on Mou is naive. He’s made errors, yes, but the issues run deeper. Both squad composition and the individual performances of the players aren’t his fault. Not to mention the injuries. TL,DR: I’m in London for the week for work and I’m battered. Love Mou hate ENIC (long term)
My uni kid came up from Brighton and is currently on a train back there. My teenbeast has a mock 6th form exam tomorrow and we have just got in (12.50am). Was in the corner of the wall by the west stand ... near where Dier went all "yippee kye ayyyy mudder fugger". There was an almighty row towards the end of the first half with a bloke with his little kid and his elderly dad and the people in front of him because they couldn't see cos of all the standing and obviously the elderly dad and little kid couldn't stand. Was pretty **** tbh. Then at half time there was a **** load of fans really slagging off the food staff cos they ran out of pies and hot chocolate...like it is their fault. And their were a few individuals who delighted in callingplaying "****s", "fat ****s", "useless ****s", "stupid ****s", "headless ****less", "slow ****s"...you get the idea... Was painful tbh. The majority of fans sang and were great but there are a largish minority who seem intent on being as foul and obnoxious as possible. For the first time in a very very long time I actually felt uncomfortable by what I experienced at WHL. As for the match stuff...still saying nothing for now!
What happened with Dier and the fans? He’s always seemed like a mild mannered man (off the pitch) and I know his family (and presumably him therefore) are lovely from first hand experience. He’s a ****house sometimes on the pitch but he’s the last person I’d expect to go into the crowd...
Kudos to you and the kids mate, proper support that. Puts me to shame as I only live 15 mins away and couldn’t be arsed! There’s been quite a few rows lately. It’s pretty poisonous around the club at the moment, lot of animosity towards Levy/ Players/ Manager/ All three and the frustration is seeping into the stands. I won’t go into too much detail as I don’t wanna spill it on a public forum but there’s been quite a few Spurs on Spurs fights this season both in and out the ground.
Initial rumours were that someone was being racist to Gedson. That now seems likely untrue. Looks as though there was an issue with Dier’s younger brother in the crowd so Dier jumped in to back his brother. Unprofessional but equally I don’t blame him. Although that’s probably the Tottenham in me
Yeah he’s gonna cop a ban now no doubt. On a personal level I make him right, big brother looking out for the younger. Professionally he’s ****ed it though lol.
I am out of patience with Jose...starting Vorm was criminal imho ... said so before kick off so not a case of hind sight...but I sang throughout and did not get on any players backs or criticise them (or Jose's subs) as that helps only the opposition. Have no idea what those jeering and abusing our players during the game hope to achieve tbh. I wanna be wrong about Jose, just as I wanted to be wrong about Gross, Bloke in a Coat, AVB and Nice but Dim...but some of are fans are making the place toxic...and the irony is they are made up of both the jose out lot and the levy out lot...the lot of them would have hounded out Keith Burkinshaw back in the late 70s before he got us going!
Jose definitely ****ed it with that decision but I’m still in the same position of I’ll judge him once he has his own players. Less than 4 months at the club is far too early to make a call on the guy, especially with the **** he’s dealing with, although it definitely doesn’t excuse the Vorm selection, he deserves to get **** for that. The toxicity is stemming from various things. Charging fans a fortune to watch this is really not helping at all and in my opinion that’s the catalyst. Feelings towards Levy/ Players/ Jose then amplify it and we’re left with what we’re witnessing.
His brother is ****ing sound so fair play to him if that’s true. He’s done himself over though, like you say.
Worst thing is, he just probably had his best performance of the season and now likely misses x amount of games. Spursy!
The thing I find frustrating is that I find a large number of fans are only hsppy if we win...I can live with losing but I find the sheer pointlessness of our footbsll the issue...it has been like this for over a year. You need top class plsyers to win things but not to play exciting and skillful football. I can not remember the last time I went to s spurs match and felt exhilarated...maybe the City match in the CL last season. I get into the matches like any fan but if I was a neutral I would not put a spurs match on to watch cos tbh...by and large they are boring. We seem to have the worst of both worlds...boring and losing football...and have done for well over a year (last years CL run being the exception).
