I know and at the start of the season I wanted to sack them off asap so we could concentrate on the PL. Things change though. We've already won the league so why not go for the cup? I didn't want A.Madrid before the draw was made because I felt it was the toughest game for us. Even worse now we're 1-0 down. Obviously, it's not over yet but our season is over if we fail.

I wondered where he was most of the game, certainly not keeping up with play. Doesn't excuse our performance, we've had to play against the ref for a large part of the season and we've always managed to score to negate the poor refereeing but we haven't been able to do that twice now. Can't say I'm unduly worried, the players are men not machines, just need to get the rhythm back.

Right positives of tonight William's looks a player, wants to get forward and has got a wicked cross on him. Saw lala telling him to hold back a few times, which was ridiculous, get that lad forward. Although not massively involved, yet again Jones looks classy in the midfield, I'd certainly like to see him in the prem in the run in. Minamino starting to catch up with the speed of play, hes been involved in some tough games, but hes starting to show why he can back Bobby up, not there yet but you can see flashes, another I'd like to see more of. This time next year lala will be an ex player, a player that definitely flattered to deceive, one good season then either injured or not good enough. I'm hoping I never have to see one more pointless little turn that looks pretty but achieves nothing.
I thought Williams was poor tonight. His crossing was awful and seemed to be treading water at times when defending. Was a big game for him tbf though. He's a young lad and he'd have learnt a lot today.

I think he was good first half but faded in the second, along with the rest of the team. Put in some decent crosses early on. I still would prefer us to buy some new full backs. Robbo is being run into the ground and Trent is so influential.
