see what happens if he picks up the same injury again....... man city will have him straight into the medical centre with a needle stuffed in him pumping him full of the exact same medication we used.
Considering all the time Man Utd gave him to be fit, he could have shown a bit more thanks rather than say something like this. He'll end up being booed by the Utd fans if he's not too careful and actually be shocked to why.
Statement from the club: "Following certain comments reported in the media this morning, the Club has issued the following statement: Manchester United is disappointed with Owen Hargreaves’ remarks after the game on Wednesday. The Club gave him the best possible care for three years and is as disappointed as anyone he was not able to play a part in the team’s success at that time. It has shared all the medical records with Manchester City and is comfortable with the actions taken by its medical staff at each step of his many attempts at rehabilitation. United does not acknowledge any validity in the comments Owen is alleged to have made. Manchester United has some of the best sports medical staff in world sport, who have made a significant contribution to United’s on-pitch success in recent seasons." http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-F...ster-united-statement-on-owen-hargreaves.aspx Slapped down
Think your reaction is a bit over the top guys. In the actual guardian interview the journalist is quick to point out that he never speaks bitterly about his time with you and mentions how great the staff were. Also, it is a bit suspicious that after 3 injury ridden years with you he moves clubs and within 3 weeks he is able to play for a sustained length of time again. Coincidence?
Wouldn't it be great if citeh play the the ****ing Judas in the up and coming " Derby", as long as we can give a guest appearance to one Mr Roy Keane ! "Knees feel like glass Hargo ? try this Alfie for size " One tackle would be all that was required and then we could substitute Roy, if the ref has not already sent him for an early bath ! Oh the irony-----zzzzzz
I think that's a bit harsh. When fit he was quality for us and easily MOTM in the CL final in my opinion.
The theory that when fit he was quality is a little bit mythical. He did produce a couple of great performances in big games. But he produced plenty of underwhelming performances too. There is a danger of overstating the importance of a player and as much as he delivered on a couple of occasions, he failed to do so in many others aswell.
Certain people are trying to make out he was world class for us. Even when 100% fit, he would still never make our starting 11.
I have lost all respect for Hargreaves. United stood by him for 3 years, paid his salary and medical bills and got nothing in return, and this is how he says thanks. No respect or loyalty in football today.
He certainly will not be welcome at Old Trafford anymore and will be his own fault when he gets booed.
