    foreign players we know little about like Cabaye and Tiote? ;)

    Would Sturridge do any better than Besty or Ba? I'm not so sure... same level of striker imo.

    Sturridge has started for Chelsea this season, I highly doubt they would loan him out.

    Lukaku, possibly.

    He can be loaned out in Jan, the rule was that you can't sign someone and loan them out in the same window

    Anyone watch the euros for the u21's last season? He was star player of the tournament and was absolutely brilliant.

    Shaqiri is one of the biggest talents in Europe, I'd suggest you only haven't heard of him due to your own ignorance rather than his lack of talent.

    Also where's this Sturridge thing come from? He was never going to go anywhere in the summer yet people persisted with linking him to a loan or full transfer move here.

    There's not many PL players that I can think of that we should try and loan.
    Maybe Lukaku, Ballotelli? I'm not going to count someone like Macheda. Do you think Welbeck would come, as 3rd choice striker at Man U? Would anyone want him considering where he was playing last season?

    I'm only counting young players here, by the way.

    said this in the summer but now i'm not so sure i'll trust the judgement of Carr to get us a permanent striker who we'll have for 5 yrs not 5 months

    We were linked with him towards the end of the transfer window, and more when Pardew was meant to be watching Derdiyok at a Switzerland game, then Shaqiri scored a hat-trick in that match. Pretty sure he's meant to be a right cocky **** though, can't find the interview but I'm sure it was him who was bigging himself up as one of the best in the world at the World Cup last year.

    We have no chance of signing Shaqiri. He was watched by 20 teams at the U-21's (NUFC being one), Barca, Real and Man United among the other teams. Apparently he won the Swiss player of the year award (OK, not exactly a strong league, but still) at the age of 19 - the young player of the year was 22! He's 5'5" and is known as the magic dwarf - or the 'Swiss Messi'.

    Yes, I read Sport magazine today. ;)
