sigurdsson had a chance ended up on his arse in front of the goal, ball came out to C-Lewin on the edge of the box who had a shot (Sig still sat in front of goal), it deflected off a Man U player wrong footing De Gea, Sig got his feet out of the way (so he didn't touch it) and the ball squeezed into the corner of the net. Ref ruled it as Offside with VAR help.
Cheers No idea on that without seeing it Sounds like it should have stood what reason did they give for disallowing Take it they saying he interfered with play
Offside Unsighting the goalkeeper. Fact is De Gea wouldn't have got it anyway. He was heading the wrong way and was nowhere near it, plus he could see over Sig.
This is going to be a massacre. Villa are ****e. Leicester must be kicking themselves they let this shower of **** get into the final
City have 70% possession (63mins) and still manage 13 fouls to Villa's 7 making them virtually unable to launch coutner attacks. When will this 'dark arts' phrase be reverted to what it simply is, unsportsman-like gameplay? It's akin to claiming throwins when it clearly came off you, stealing metres with throwins, diving, surrounding the ref or asking for players to be booked. Awful habits the pundits and media seem to condone these days. Refs don't seem to give a **** either.
They’ve committed the 2nd lowest number of fouls in the PL this season. The idea that they somehow ‘own’ the idea of a foul that breaks up play is utter nonsense.
https://theathletic.com/1603079/2020/02/18/tactical-fouls-man-city-arsenal-liverpool/ Man City and Arsenal the worst offenders but Liverpool buck trend of tactical fouls Opta have been gathering information on this since the 2017-18 season, measuring the number of opposition turnovers each team faces every Premier League season and the number of those turnovers that end in a foul. The key number, effectively the rate of tactical fouling, is the percentage relationship between the two. Manchester City were responsible for the second and third highest rates that Opta have on record. So far in 2019-20, City have committed 117 fouls to stop 1,540 opposition turnovers, a rate of 7.6 per cent. In 2017-18, City committed 180 fouls to stop 2,587 opposition turnovers, a rate of 6.96 per cent. The only club to record a higher rate is Arsenal this season, with 139 fouls from 1695 opposition turnovers, a rate of 8.2 per cent. And we know who took over as their new manager in December. Liverpool are the most dominant team in English football history, with 73 points from a possible 75. And yet this season’s side is also the most innocent team on record when it comes to tactical fouls: just 74 of 1,911 opposition turnovers have ended in fouls, a rate of just 3.87 per cent.
