My mrs got let go from work today after her 3 month probation period ended. She had 2 weeks off just after xmas due to illness but other than that never put a foot wrong, got on with all other employers and even her boss was shocked/pissed off when he found out she was being let go today. The reason was "unsatisfactory performance" and the decision was made by area managers who had only ever met her a few times and that was only a hello how are you type conversation. I know the employment law etc is ****ed up and they are well within their rights to end her employment. But if her actual manager is happy with her and sees her day in day out I dont understand what they've based their decision on. Mindblown!
The like wasn't because I liked what happened btw, but i agree. EDIT: What I will say though is that employment law has improved since the EU. Workers have a lot more rights now. Oh Wait.....
Found that nail to hit nicely on the head. Watch those rights erode. And my sympathies to Mrs Sotonsaint.
Cheers guys, shes not really that bothered as she dont depend on the job it just got her out the house 3 days a week and bit of social time. They couldn't even give her a proper reason as to why they've let her go which pissed her off more than anything, and when shes barely met those people their opinion feels completely prejudice.
I went to the zoo yesterday and I saw a piece of toast in a cage. When I asked the keeper why, he said it was “bread in captivity.”
Sorry guise, site went down at 11pm last night. I emailed the guy that owns the server, but he only saw my message in the last hour. The telephone number I had was an old one, got his new number now.
