Time to call it a day-two years of poor home form and the most expensive squad in history -time for a upgrade, top manager at Bristol Bears time for one at Bristol City over to you Steve Lansdown.
SL will know when to pull the plug, but hope he doesn't, even if it's to piss you off!! Fact is, LJ is our most successful manager since AD and unless we end up in relegation battle where we look close to drop, I'm not seeing it happen soon......unless he has a budding Pep or Jose lined up!!
I bloody hope so- the money that has been thrown at him-he should be mixing it with the top two this season and that ain't going to happen is it. AD was on a different level with that squad. Prefered Cotterills football by a country mile.
But that was league one, wasn't so good when we hit the championship, we were on the way to relegation...
Did i say that no What i said was LJ has had the money put on a plate-SC was given very little comparing the two.
How many players did SC buy before our promotion to League One? If he was setting his sights on unrealistic targets in the Championship then he has only himself to blame
What players in the same category as LJ has purchased and loaned. I watched the Huddersfield game on the red button -you watched it at the ground was it worse at the ground than it was on sky. Shocking performance.
I agree it was a shocking performance but I'm fed up of hearing about the money that LJ has spent. All clubs in the Championship spend money. And I would be very annoyed if our most recent manager (whoever he may be) didn't spend the most money ever because that's how money works with prices going up all the time!
No, No, No, No No - he was given money, but he went after unobtainable players and had no plan B, and at the end of the window and we got screwed with no new striker, and he got sacked. Don't re-write history Red Robin.
In League 1 maybe yes, but in the Championship it didn’t work and he was awful. How quickly time changes the memory!! Same 3-5-2 every game and deploying the subs to like for like positions at 88 minutes when losing? No thanks - I’d rather have LJ for a million more seasons than go back to that. Now, if we ever did (God forbid) find ourselves back in League 1 then Cotts would be first on my wish list...... but right now, NO.
If SC was that good, why hasn't he been offered or taken any decent jobs since he left?....I believe he's league one at best.
don't know what the tweet says but can guess is not accurate! SL having a meeting with LJ after the comments by Lee and the p**** who started rumour mongering is to be expected of the man [SL ] SL started HL and had to have a shoulder and empathy for "subordinates to cry on" .. when you do your utmost and it is a blank period ...either points or earning £'s it is support he gives not the axe …………..
I agree, he was good in league one, but couldn't hold a job down in the championship......I think he's at his best with budget type players at that certain level....that's his limit..
It's getting a bit vitriolic chaps and let's not make this site too personal. Our club is at a point in it's future that a lot of people, including myself from time to time, believe we not performing at the level that we were expecting for whatever reason. I fully understand those whose praise Lee for his work since becoming manager at Bristol City because here we are close on the heels of a play-off position and yet we have performed well below par in those matches where we had a great chance to seal the deal and cement the possibility of post season action at Ashton Gate. Where the club goes from here is anyone's guess and comparing previous managers to Lee is well and fine but the footballing world and it's finances have changed radically during the intervening years especially on the price tag front. Player's attitudes appear to have reached an unacceptable level and their commitment to the team, rather than their bank balance, doesn't exactly make it any easier. The game is all about money and the dangerous problems it can throw our way beggars belief so I can appreciate Steve Lansdown's possible reluctance to splash the cash because if we fall down the cracks it might take the team back to the years that nobody will want to see return. Let's be honest here, we all want to see City compete for the top tier but we all have varying opinions about how it should be done and that's the point of this forum. Lee's success or failure will be determined by team performances at some point in his tenure, because that's what the job description should state, but doing virtually the same things over and over and not changing the pack might not get the job done. Good luck during my 2 month absence and I hope our play-off run is well and firmly in place upon my return. Keep calm and carry on.
Mike I think we’re all pretty respectful on this forum to be honest. The Brexit debate got a bit heated, but mostly we are able to speak our minds without personally attacking others for their views .....? If you pop over to OTIB you will see real vitriol and hatred - but not on here. Peace ✌️ love and all that ....
