So we had a free kick in their half in the 94th minute and we passed back to our own keeper. We then gave them one in the 95th minute which they used to mount an attack, and scored the winner. Nothing to do with luck or the january window. That's just a pathetic lack of ambition. Why didn't we try and nick one in the last minute?
Those who went seem pretty angry about our timewasting and lack of ambition. Understandable, especially at £30 a ticket, but if we are becoming an ugly team I put it down to lack of quality. Time and again recently we just can't hang on to the ball due to lack of basic technical ability, the ball eventually gets passed back to Phillips who is put under pressure and has to hoof it away. At throw-ins we take so long over them and usually give it away again. If anyone thinks another manager could get anything more out of them, the answer is that they couldn't, that's why we've got them, with one or two exceptions. Over the last 5 years any player who becomes a desirable property gets sold to be replaced with a freebie or a reject, and the same thing happened at the window.
