SPL (SPFL1), Sunday 16/02/2020 : Rangers 1-0 Livingston Job done. Rangers had the ball in the net 3 times, two ruled out for offside though, leaving Arfield's opener as the decider. Europa League Round of 32 1st leg, Thursday 20/02/2020 : Rangers v Braga (Portugal), KO 20:00 hours - BT Sport. 18/02/2020 : A stern test for Rangers, considering the drop in form since the 'winter break'. Let us hope that everything clicks together on Thursday and we take a decent lead into the 2nd leg, which is scheduled for 27th February. Thursday 20th February, Scottish teams only. FC Copenhagen 20:00 Celtic Rangers 20:00 Braga
And the U17s got a 4-4 draw with Aspire in the Alkass Cup. After Inter losing 1-0, it looks like we will play Mohammed IV Academy in the quarters tomorrow. Good luck, young Bears, get into the ****s. Will be a tough game to be fair.
Europa League Round of 32 1st leg, Thursday 20/02/2020 : Rangers 3-2 Braga (Portugal) From being totally outclassed and overrun, Rangers recovered to win a match that seemed destined to be a defeat. Well done lads, especially our goalscorers, Aribo and Hagi. Attendance : 49,874 (BTS) Thursday 20th February, Scottish teams only. FC Copenhagen 1-1 Celtic Rangers 3-2 Braga
SPL (SPFL1), Sunday 23/02/2020 : St Johnstone v Rangers, KO 13:30 hours, SKY. 20/02/2020 : This is probably being unfair to him, but I have long regarded the St Johnstone Manager Tommy Wright as depicting the stereotypical 'Angry Scotsman' (despite his being born in Belfast !) ... this is just based on his looks btw, not his character. In any event, I have to hope that Mr Wright will have reason to be angry on Sunday, as he sees Rangers win the match. please log in to view this image SPL matches, 21-22-23 & 25/02/2020 : Friday 21st February : St Mirren v Heart of Midlothian - Postponed, waterlogged pitch. SPL (SPFL1), Sunday 23/02/2020 : St Johnstone 2-2 Rangers I followed this on Sportsound and my Twitter feed. Another two points dropped by Rangers, this time after taking the lead having gone behind. What is galling about this is that we seemed to be dominating the game up to going ahead, only to ease off and let St Johnstone back into the game. 'Angry Man' Tommy Wright will be a Happy Man after this result. Update. The gaps are now 12, 20 and 19 for points, GD and goals scored, plus 5 for games won. That last gap explains the others. Critically, the Opposition now have a 3 point cushion against our game in hand and our two head to head matches. Attendance : 8,286 (RFC) SPL matches, 21-22-23 & 25/02/2020 : Friday 21st February : St Mirren v Heart of Midlothian - Postponed, waterlogged pitch. Braga were outstanding last Thursday at Ibrox, will be surprised if we get a result judging by our recent form. Rangers to draw then get pumped out the Scottish cup by Hearts.
Europa League Round of 32 2nd leg, Wednesday 26/02/2020 : Braga 0-1 Rangers (2-3), Agg 2-4. 26/02/2020 : My hope was fulfilled. Scottish FA Cup Round 6, Saturday 29/02/2020 : Heart of Midlothian v Rangers, KO 17:30 hours, Premier Sports. 27/02/2020 : The Scottish FA Cup is probably our most realistic chance of silverware this Season. Let us see Rangers reproduce the Europa form on Saturday and progress to the next Round. SFA Cup matches, 28-29/02/ & 01/03/2020 : Friday 28th February : Hibernian 19:45 Inverness Caledonian Thistle Saturday 29th February Heart of Midlothian 17:30 Rangers St Mirren 19:20 Aberdeen Sunday 1st March : St Johnstone 15:00 Celtic
28/02/2020 : Euro Draws, made today. Europa League : Round of 16 Draw, Home teams only. Rangers v Bayer Leverkusen Linz ASK v Manchester United Olympiacos v Wolverhampton Wanderers Update : Thu 12 Mar 20:00 Europa Rnd of 16 . Rangers v Bayer Leverkusen Thu 19 Mar 17:55 Europa Rnd of 16 . Bayer Leverkusen v Rangers Round of 16 Draw : 28 February First legs : 12 March Second legs : 19 March Notes from the UEFA website. Rangers vs Leverkusen Rangers beat Leverkusen in the 1998/99 UEFA Cup second round (1-1 h, 2-1 a). Those 1998/99 UEFA Cup matches with Rangers are Leverkusen's only previous games against a Scottish club, while Rangers have not faced a German club in UEFA competition since playing Stuttgart twice in the 2009/10 Champions League group stage (1-1 a, 0-2 h). That defeat at Ibrox ended a five-match winning run, and eight-game unbeaten streak, at home to German visitors. Leverkusen will return to Glasgow in the round of 16, having played perhaps their most famous game in Scotland's largest city. They took on Real Madrid in the 2002 UEFA Champions League final at Hampden Park, losing 2-1. Ryan Jack, Rangers midfielder: "We have done something special here for the fans and for the club, and this next draw is about us enjoying it, getting a big side and testing ourselves again against another step-up in opposition. I think it's going to be great for us whoever we get, but we will certainly believe we can do a job." LASK vs Manchester United Manchester United are unbeaten in their eight games against Austrian clubs, winning seven – including the last six, most recently against Sturm Graz in the 2000/01 UEFA Champions League first group stage (2-0 a, 3-0 h). This will be LASK's first game against an English club. In terms of UEFA club coefficient, this is the lowest-ranked side left in the competition against the highest-ranked side. Olympiacos vs Wolves First encounter for these clubs. Olympiacos eliminated Premier League side Arsenal in the last round. Wolves have never played a Greek team. Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo and Olympiacos boss Pedro Martins were team-mates at Vitória SC in the 1994/95 season. Nuno played in goal for the Guimarães side while Martins was a midfielder. Wolves have not reached the last 16 in European competition since the 1971/72 UEFA Cup, when they went on to reach the final. Scottish FA Cup Round 6, Saturday 29/02/2020 : Heart of Midlothian 1-0 Rangers I followed this on Sportsound and it seems Rangers reproduced form, but the wrong form, tonight. Jeykell & Hyde, FFS ! Attendance : 11,284 (BBC) SFA Cup matches, 28-29/02/ & 01/03/2020 : Friday 28th February : Hibernian 5-2 Inverness Caledonian Thistle Saturday 29th February Heart of Midlothian 1-0 Rangers St Mirren 0-2 Aberdeen Sunday 1st March : St Johnstone 0-1 Celtic
SPL (SPFL1), Wednesday 04/03/2020 : Rangers v Hamilton Academical, KO 19:45 hours. 03/03/2020 : Will Rangers return to the form we expect from Rangers tomorrow ? The players certainly owe us that. SPL matches, 03 & 04/03/2020 : Tuesday 3rd March Hibernian 19:45 Heart of Midlothian Wednesday 4th March Kilmarnock 19:45 Aberdeen Livingston 19:45 Celtic Motherwell 19:45 Ross County Rangers 19:45 Hamilton Academical St Mirren 19:45 St Johnstone
SPL (SPFL1), Wednesday 04/03/2020 : Rangers 0-1 Hamilton Academical Another one of 'those games', where team A dominates but team B nicks it. However, this time it was due to player error (again) on our part. These factors created another one of those 'odd results' for Hamilton, which they get from time to time. I do not begrudge Hamilton their victory; that they won tonight was due to our own shortcomings. Attendance : 48,167 (RFC) SPL matches, 03 & 04/03/2020 : Tuesday 3rd March Hibernian 1-3 Heart of Midlothian Wednesday 4th March Kilmarnock 2-2 Aberdeen Livingston 2-2 Celtic Motherwell 4-1 Ross County Rangers 0-1 Hamilton Academical St Mirren 0-0 St Johnstone
SPL (SPFL1), Sunday 08/03/2020 : Ross County v Rangers, KO 12:00 hours, SKY. 04/03/2020 : Going by our team's lack of form, mentioning the gaps seems pointless (no pun intended!). Rangers will probably be trailing by 16 points at KO when we play at Cadbury Ross County on Sunday. SPL matches, 07-08 & 11/03/2020 : Saturday 7th March Aberdeen 15:00 Hibernian Celtic 15:00 St Mirren Hamilton Academical 15:00 Kilmarnock Heart of Midlothian 15:00 Motherwell St Johnstone 15:00 Livingston Sunday 8th March Ross County 12:00 Rangers - SKY Wednesday 11th March St Mirren 1-0 Heart of Midlothian
SPL (SPFL1), Sunday 08/03/2020 : Ross County 0-1 Rangers A disjointed performance going by Sportsound, but a win nevertheless. Job done. Europa League Round of 16, 1st leg, Thursday 12/03/2020 : Rangers v Bayer Leverkusen, KO 20:00 hours, BT Sport. 10/03/2020 : Here's hoping Rangers find and apply Europa form on Thursday ! please log in to view this image
Europa League Round of 16, 1st leg, Thursday 12/03/2020 : Rangers 1-3 Bayer Leverkusen Rangers were too tentative against a much better side. There was rarely enough pressure from our team and this enabled our opponents to stroll through most of this game tonight.
