You're not Woke, it has been established (by Gambol) that coronavirus is a generic term which also includes the common cold. If you really want to start a panic you need to give it a name that would scare people. Adding a number to the name makes it even more scary like Burd Flew H5N1.

 

The flu (a coronavirus) kills thousands every year but nobody seems overly worried about it.

 

Probably because there is a lot known about the flu, plus vaccines. Whereas COVD-19 is a new virus that has only recently jumped to the human species and very little is still known about it, and of course no vaccines for it yet.

 

I thought it was because the W.H.O thought the Wuhan Coronavirus sounded racist .
