Red cards are purely at the discretion of the referee, as we've seen all season. He makes the call and VAR almost always backs it up, however they have to do it. Michael Oliverpool decided not to bother reffing yesterday, letting virtually everything go. That makes him a good ref, apparently. Except for this decision, which ends the sport.

In the context of this discussion, which of the following would leave you satisfied enough to leave us alone to wallow in our own misery? 1) Full consensus that Lo Celso deserved a red. 2) Full consensus that the standard of officiating has been abysmal, and VAR is simply technologically enhancing that incompetence to create some kind of dystopian moronic mutant. 3) Full consensus that Spurs get as many if not more dodgy decisions go their way as Pool do. 4) Full consensus that the media, pundits and internet do nothing to influence what officials do both during and after a game.
