I actually named myself with MLT in mind - this was before the rise of SRL.

If I had to name myself again picking no7s in my viewing lifetime, I would rename myself to thereareonlytwono7s ...Matt Le Tiss & Rickie. Think Matt edges it, just as he was Southampton. Rickie though was our rise back to the big time...and an absolutely lovely bloke.

    Said it before,

Rickie Lambert born in Liverpool, made in Southampton.

Yep I was willing him to yesterday - and not just for Saints reasons. I so wish the 2nd was an Armstrong pass to Che instead - it would have done his confidence so much good.

I thought Kevin Keagan played in a number 7 shirt.

You are correct. My first true football hero too.

I queued up once to get his autograph after a game in 1982 I think and he signed it "To Mark, Best wishes Kevin Keegan". I was only 12 or 13 and stared at it all night and even slept with it next to the pillow for a week. Still remember - it was in green ink for some reason.

Yep, so do I. It'll be a massive relief for all concerned, I'm sure.

I'm glad it wasn't blue as I would now have thought he was being sarcastic.

That is why I stared at it for so long. Couldn’t believe he couldn’t spell thereisonlyoneno7 so left a Mark instead.

    Just an afterthought.

If JWP hadn't been a bit of a superhero in midfield this season, would his recent performances at fullback make the position his?

I was reminded of a certain Wayne Bridge, seen as a wide attacking player who filled in at LB and went on to play for England there.

Sorry I do get your points 1 and 2 but not 3. I don't think he's very good and he is so arrogant!

I have a theory that physically we are not a big or strong side, so when we play one that is, such as Burnley we tend to struggle. I think West Ham are more physical than us, so I am not expecting to win. Lets hope that isn't the case

I have said for a long time that we are far too nice, polite and petite. We need some mean dirty bastards who will kick ****ing arse. Please do not sign another 5 foot six inch 7 stone weakling like our new right back. I want 6 foot two inch tall brutes who will truck no nonsense, get in the ref's face and bully the opposition. I want Dennis Hollywood or John McGrath type figures, ale house brawlers who will frighten the opposition into submission.

I always expect us to win. We are better than West Ham. Cream rises to the top :)

Mark my words, Che and Ings is going to become a deadly partnership. Or we will sell him, not sure which will happen first.

Took my time responding to the game.

Firstly, a great response to the recent run of results, exactly what was needed.
Midfield bossed it and congrats to Willy Smallbone, he had big shoes to fill and did well. PEH was massive.
JWP put in another top drawer performance.
The first choice CB pairing are bloody good together.
DJ Nipple is a bit short of confidence these days. He's lost a bit of direct-ness going for goal and he really should have been on the score sheet. Top assist tho.
Danny did very well and was unlucky to be denied twice by Reina.
Villa were really really poor in every part of the pitch. Mings Reina and Grealish the only players who seemed to be there. Worrying for their fans.
We scored with Shane Longs nuts and an open goal. They all count but that's unconvincing against such a poor side.
Our tactics are really, really good these days. we create so many chances both in the box and outside. It beggars belief how different it is to watch us.
I can't remember the last time I freaked out when we won a corner thinking we would concede on the break.
    WE WON AT HOME.
    positivity works.
