And here you Sucky... cast the net, I give you pearls mate Well what is Azp doing there anyway? The trouble with watching that VAR replay is that it's about one second of action looped round at slow speed. That makes it look much worse. That little snippet (which would be showed to the ref if he looked at the pitch monitor, so I wonder what the point would be) shows a situation completely out of context. In that section, it's like Azp has teleported in and GLC brings down the foot. We know that! The context is where has Azp come from and can GLC see him coming. In fact Azp is somewhat out of control and he's coming in horizontally - normally a sign that he is about to commit the serious foul. If GLC hadn't lifted up his let, Azp would probably have connected with his ankle. Also, I've seen stamps before and the person doing the stamping doesn't immediately reach down to the guy on the ground as if he's surprised he's there. All I'm saying is (1) it's not nearly as clear cut as everyone would have you believe and (2) if you're only going to review 1 second of VAR, then anyone coming down on someone will seem to have stamped on them. Because even if you don't think this happened yesterday, there will be a situation when a defender steams in horizontally for a potentially damaging tackle, the attacker sees him coming and jumps up out of the way, accidentally coming back down on the defender. Show the VAR and it will look like the attacker in the wrong. this is genius
