As the title says really..... I reckon he will look to sell at the end of NEXT season as long as our balance and team sheets look canny... And presuming we are mid tabe.

    What do you fellas think?

Sadly I dont think he'll sell until we pay him back all the money from that interest free loan. Another 5 years I reckon. It's comforting to think that, at the very worst, he'll die in my lifetime and we'll get a new owner.

The Sports Direct signs, particularly the new one, gives me the impression that he's going to be at the club for a while yet.

He'll sell up when he gets an offer that's good enough, but good enough means it pays that debt off plus the actual valuation of the club. Personally I'm not too bothered, barring the Sports Direct nonsense and lack of communication he's done nothing horrendous since relegation. Our team is better financially and from a footballing point of view than when he took over, better the devil you know and all that...

As others have said, anypotential suitors are scared off by the fact not only do they have to buy the club but pay off the large loan MA gave us to stave off administration . . . . . . the bastard.

From what ive heard there will be a renewed bid at the end of the season after puma sponsorship ends. Just have to wait and see. Club will cost a fortune though as ashley wants everything back. Might stick interest on that loan too.

You'll need to hire SJP in order to accomodate everybody that wants to attend.

What's Puma got to do with any buyout, they're just the kit sponsor.

I'm starting to feel like an Ashley apologist here, but surely better that we've got that loan rather than go into administration?

Most clubs are sold when the kit sponsorship ends and thats at the end of this season. Allows the new buyer to get their own in and sort out finances for it.

I would but will end up getting arrested for urinating in a public place!

TBH I can't see him ever selling. He owns a Premiership football club that has a relatively low wage for this level of football, makes money every transfer window and gets large gate receipts. That there is a fantastic recipe for making money and thats why Ashley bought the club. Why would he sell?

Examples? Ashley himself came in the middle of our Adidas deal, Chelsea kept Umbro for ages after Abramovich, Man City Le Coq Sportif. I'd be inclined to believe any that do happen at the same time is simply coincidence of both new owners and sponsorship ending in the same summer. Thats without even considering the number of buyouts than happen mid season, e.g. Liverpool.

We'll have a new sponsor and shirt by the last game of the season, not exactly a popular time for takeovers.

This, to be honest I'd happily let fans hate me to own a premier league football club (barring toon) someone like Wigan I'd happily own if they were making me money :p

Sooner the better but I have a feeling we'll see at least another 5 years. I don't think he'll have time to recoup all his money otherwise unless he receives a spell binding offer. Well that offer hasn't materialised so far and there is little to suggest its imminent.

    I kind of doubt this.

I think Ashley's learned what the club is really worth, and will take a decent offer if it's made. He's unlikely to ever see all his money back whatever happens. I think he'd cut his losses and call it a day if the write off wasn't too extreme
