Essex, I get as nervous regarding Kiko as everyone else. It's not that I like him, I just think some of the stuff thrown at him is over the top. Now if this young lad comes in and we don't go up automatically will he get pissed on as well.
I reckon the fact the FA have took so long over this is cos they lacked evidence, otherwise they would've been quick to find him guilty. If the FA use a lip reader, which they said they would employ, then Leeds should take it to court if Kiko's found guilty, using a lip reader is illegal. The article said a player was stood behind and said “Because there is support for [Jonathan] Leko’s claim from Macauley Bonne who is standing behind him and saying ‘yes he was racially abused’ Standing behind who, Kiko or Leko? and, why didn't Bonne repeat what Kiko allegedly said, and why didn't the author print what Kiko was supposed to have said. Took from Daily Telegraph. The FA claimed Casilla “used abusive and/or insulting words”, with the allegation also extending to an aggravated breach of making “reference to race and/or colour and/or ethnic origin” towards Leko, who is on loan from West Bromwich Albion. Casilla, a former Spain international, who has played for Real Madrid and Espanyol, was alleged to have used the “N-word”.........that must've been some conversation, where did they find the time to stop and have a chat. So the allegation extends to “reference to race and/or colour and/or ethnic origin” towards Leko"..........which means the racist allegation is not the main allegation.....and what was Leko saying during the long chat. So, was the alleged word Nigger or negro? I suspect negro, which is a common word in Spanish and Italian languages..........If it's the latter, we have another Beluschi case on our hands. Fans who are calling for, or hoping for Kiko to get banned should hold their heads in shame.......they should also be careful of what they wish for.
Pretty simple really. If there is clear evidence of guilt then he deserves what he gets. If there isn't then he deserves support as these kinds of allegations can be damning and stress invoking. Comments about hoping he gets banned are generally tongue in cheek. My preference is our manager gets to choose from the largest squad available and makes his own choice who plays.
Fans calling for Kiko to be banned are not tongue in cheek. If he, or anyone racially abuses any player (I believe racism as such doesn't exist) then it's breaking rules and deserves to be punished, however, we live in a real world and players are paid handsomely and should be thick skinned, not wums who don't like being called names. Fans get stuck into players a lot worse than players do. Clear evidence of guilt, and actually being guilty are two different things. Many an innocent person have been punished based on so called clear evidence.
Well I can't stand Diane Abbott but not because she's a black pudding but because she's a thick as **** lefty retard.
The difference being that Kiko is an established keeper and maybe mentally stronger than the young lad whose confidence could be ****ed if he does mess up..
Made me laugh - we Scots are ever so PC. We have black pudding, white pudding, red pudding & even fruit pudding! Very inclusive we are!
Up in Fort Bill, enjoying the local pudding and haggis, good job i don't live here, I'd be having a heart attack within 2 years.
Sometimes there is a season defining moment that is out of the coach or managers control, an injury meaning someone else gets a chance and they surpass your expectations. Bielsa likes and trusts Kiko so I am happy to see him starting, I trust his (Bielsa) judgement but I won't be bothered for a second if he gets a ban and we have Messlier in goal. I don't want to see him banned if he is innocent, I would hate for his career to be finished over it but from a Leeds United point of view it would be good if we can terminate his contract. If we remain in this division next season we need better than Kiko and if we get promoted we'll go straight back down with him in goal. He is absorbing a lot of wages that would be better spent elsewhere.
