Dier and Winks. FFS. Actually, edit: Dier. FFS. Looking forward to DH's son running rings around him.
Also that bench is a bit silly. No need for 4 CMs, even if Lo Celso can play further upfield. Sessegnon at least provides width. Surprised he isn't in the squad.
Aurier can get forward and Dier can sit back with the centre backs and Ben Davies so there is a block of 4, this is the Spurs side Jose wanted from day one
To be honest I'm not, he's been very, very poor, even by his own admission. Wouldn't be surprised if he's loaned out in the summer.
Depends if Dier looks like he's about to leave his lunch all over the pitch by the 60th minute or not
I agree he hasn't done nearly enough to earn a start. But as KH points out, the chances of Skipp getting on the pitch are almost zero as he offers more or less the same thing as Gedson and Tanguy - players who Maureen clearly prefers. Sess coming on at least allows us to change our shape. Also gives us a wider option up top than Lucas and Stevie - both of whom prefer cutting inside. To me, his omission is tactically naive.
I'd agree that it makes more sense to put him in over Skipp when we've stockpiled CMs but it's also no real loss in my eyes. I think with Lucas on the bench plus Son and Bergwijn in the XI there's an adequate amount of width in the squad to utilise. Sess has been so, so disappointing that I really can't be too fussed about whether he's in the squad or not.
Lucas is in the XI mate. The bench is Gazza plus 6 players who prefer playing centrally. It's just stupid tbh.
****, course he is. Yeah makes it's look a lot more silly now although I still can't pretend I'm too disappointed. Don't know if the lad is lacking in confidence or he's not as good as we initially thought but it's just not worked for him so far. Gio and Tanguy have had iffy starts due to fitness and adaptation but both have shown huge glimpses of quality (with Gio being brilliant of late), unfortunately I've seen next to nothing from Sess. Fully appreciate he's still very young but I just don't see where he fits in at Spurs at the moment, miles away from being a good enough LB, Son is leagues ahead at LW and if Stevie's debut was anything to go by, so is he.
Got to have that winter break ...that winter break that takes place in February because Sky & BT paid so much to have a glut of games in the Christmas period while The FA refuse to accept that the FA Cup isn't as important as it was when it was the only live football match on telly in the 1970s
@Dier Hard 's love child owes us a slap after his screw up on the opening day that gave us a goal. Can see a lot of moaning on here after the game
