For me if there were epic sporting moments, it would have to be Muhammad Ali, he enticed the public attention with not one but many an epic fight, with all the great fighters of his time. I couldn't say if he was as great as fighters since, but there was something of a fairytale around the guy that could float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. People who are too young to know him, just look up rumble in the jungle and the thrilla in manila.
