I think tiote is much better than parker when on form. People overrate parker too much. Very good player, but not this god some people seem to make him out to be.

For me, tiote and cabaye could grow into the best CM pairing outside the top 4. Tiote isn't at his best yet and I can see cabaye improving more and more as the season goes by. Plus, theres the overall partnership to consider and how well they can work together. That's vital.

Parker won the Football Writers Player of the Year award last season despite playing in a side that went down. He also has been Englands stand out performer since he broke back into the squad. He is also playing in a side that will be sitting in the top 4/5 next May. People need to be realistic, he is better than Tiote.

  5. Bollocks. Parker tackles well at times, but he doesn't dispossess players near as well as Tiote. Tiote keeps a hold of the ball much better than Parker. He's strong enough to hold off players, and when he's on form, he doesn't get caught in possession often. He lost the ball a lot of times at the start of this season, but don't forget that's because he was off form as he was taking part in ramadan, and couldn't eat or drink in daylight ours, and therefore probably wasn't being pushed too much in training.

When he's on form, Tiote's ball control is immense. He holds off players with his strength and balance, he tricks players with his agility, and distributes the ball very well.

Parker isn't that great. Barton, Cabaye and Tiote are all better than him.

Don't judge Tiote's ball control abilities and overall ability based on the first 4 games of this season, when he had a slow start, in form he's a beast.

I've been working so haven't caught most of our games this season. I'm judging him on last season still.

Parker has not been England's stand out player, I really wanted him to be as it would prove that players on form should be picked but I have been very disappointed with Parker for England, I thought he was going to be dropped before he had such a good debut for Tottenham.

  8. You're entitled to your opinion, but if you think Parkers ball control and tackling are better than Tiote's, you need to get a eye sight check mate.

Really? I've been impressed with him. Just quietly and effectively going about his role. It's been people like Milner, Lampard etc. that have disappointed me.

Wouldnt say he was bad, just nowhere near what he is capable of. He can impose himself on games so much more than he does for England, and gave the ball away a lot in his first couple of games.

How many yellows does Tiote pick up? How many fouls does he give away? He dispossess people with his strength not with good tackling. In terms of an actual tackle, Parker is far superior. Tiote uses his upper body whilst Parker puts a foot in.

And ball control, Parker has tremendous technical abilities. Tiote has good control yes, but he loses control of it in our half with heavy touches where he tries too much. Parker rarely gives the ball away.

    I agree with this also.
People are forgetting mistakes Tiote made last season, there was a game (Man City at home?) where he tried to do one of his little turns on the edge of the box and essentially handed them a goal.
He's a great player but not perfect.

  15. Tiote doesn't often give the ball away on form. Parker has good ball control, but he doesn't keep a hold of it as well as Tiote.

Tiote gets a lot of yellow cards because he's a physical player, and gets stuck in like Alex Song and Essien. Parker doesn't have the strength to stand toe to toe with physical players so he wont go in as often as Tiote.

Tiote gets booked because sometimes for bad luck, sometimes he gets bookings because he takes one for the team and stops an oppositions attack.

Tiote's ball control is better than Parkers. Parkers passing and creative play is better <ok>

  17. He's still learning, and unfortunately his few mistakes got punished, but overall his ball control is better than Parkers. Remember it was his first season in the PL, and he was getting used to the fact that he wasn't able to dribble on the edge of the box in the league.

His mistakes in that aspect were few, compared to the very consistent amount of good performances he gave.

Parker was not without mistakes. He put in his fair share of stray passes for WHU last season.

I hate how people are blind to the majority of mistakes he makes. It's largely the same with Colo. Tiote wasn't perfect last season, but people think he was.

I play Sunday League and anyone with a brain knows not to dribble on the edge of the box. I have never met a footballer that thinks it is right to dribble in their own box. That is an awful excuse for what is essentially, a poor trait of his game.

Parker put in stray passes, but in general he was the most consistent player in the league.

  20. No one is ****ing saying that. Many criticize how silly some of his bookings were, and how he sometimes puts in stupid trips and kicks and gets himself booked.

Tiote isn't perfect, and yes he does sometimes dribble the ball around the box when he should, but overall his play is excellent.

Parker, Tiote, Barton - None of these players are perfect, and none without errors. Parker gave away possession and put in stray passes for WHU last season at times you know.

Tiote doesn't make mistakes often, but we all recognize he isn't perfect. 90% of the time his play is awesome. But we all know he has the ability to be stupid and keep a hold of the ball when he shouldn't or trip a player over and get himself a card.
