OK, you asked, so I'll let you know some facts...............Stats always sound great, till you analyse'em...............Use Phillips passing stats as an example, while they look good, most of his passes are sideways or backwards, and in our half................Chesh said recently he's not interested in 70% possession cos it's normally in our half.......................If stats come out that shows Phillips failed passes, he'd be up there.

Phillips averages the seventh most tackles per game of any player in the Championship, and his defensive brilliance is there for all to see.”

Let me show you what you refuse to see, or acknowledge, and all coaches work on this.

If true, do you think Phillips makes those tackles cos the opposing side are bossing our midfield, and isn't Phillips suppose to control our midfield, you know, add rigidity and stability..................didn't work against Brentford.

Ell mentioned our problems started at the Cardiff game back in Dec 15th, and many on here have agreed, so, what happened to the rigidity and stability, and Pirlo like performances between then and when he got banned...........where was it?...........nowhere, cos he ain't got it, he was part of team, wasn't he?.

Phillips is in the top 5 Championship players for aggression, cos he's got 7 yellows and 1 red this season.......In last year and 2 months I think it is, Phillips has accumulated 2 red cards, been banned for too many yellows, and accumulated God knows how many yellows over 2 seasons.....18/01/2020 Phillips got red carded against QPR, he got red carded just over a year ago I think it was, and he's been banned for too many yellows this season.

Berardi gets one red and most claim he's a liability, so, what does Phillips 2 reds, 3 bans and numerous yellows make him?

    First fact for 2019 / 2020 below.

Phillips is 25th, not 7th as you wrongly claim.

    25 Kalvin PhillipsLeeds, 24, D(C),DMC 28 2497 81 45 126 7.19

    Number 2,

Kalvin Phillips the new Pirlo......:emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:.....like I said Ristac, you take in and believe everything you read and hear cos of your infatuation with Phillips.

Seriously now Ristac, you actually believe Phillips is the new Pirlo............:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl..........I can't believe you believe Phillips is as good as, or better than the great Pirlo.........how many genuine Rolex's have you bought off the likely lad on street corner.

Honestly, how many times have some Leeds fans called for our coaches for England, and I disagreed every time.....Monk, Grayson, the bald headed idiot, and Redfearn, who ended up coaching a ladies team.................who the hell are you actually believing

    Number 3,

Beckford is just someone else with an opinion, but he did use the word "arguable" and I'm well aware of the people who think Phillips walks on water, unlike you, it doesn't mean I have to agree.

    Number 4,

Only 2 key passes per game you say, what's he doing for the other 90 minutes, having a cup of tea cos he's done his 2 key passes.......He plays as a CM DM, he should be making more than 2 key passes per game, he needs to up his game. He's 17th on list, Ayling is just behind him. If a key pass is passing sideways or backwards he's certainly done more than 2.

Opta defines a key pass as “the final pass or pass-cum-shot leading to the recipient of the ball having an attempt at goal without scoring.”.........effing hell, our AM'S and wingers are doing more than that per game.

    Number 5,

Phillips is not a playmaker, playmakers don't do most of their passing sideways and backwards. Playmakers are there to help drive defences backwards, drive through the opposing defence, with the ball or making defence cutting passes, Phillips doesn't do that. Ben White did quite a few times while Phillips was on holiday, Forshaw does it a lot, but most players look to Pablo or Klich to make the play.

    OR,

In association football, a playmaker is a player who controls the flow of the team's offensive play, and is often involved in passing moves which lead to goals, through their vision, technique, ball control, creativity, and passing ability..........sorry, not Phillips, definitely Pablo, Klich, Forshaw.

Do you reckon, it seems you do, that Phillips is up there with the best................Number 10 only got 17 points, how many points do you reckon your so called playmaker got............did he even make the list as a playmaker.

    Number 6,

What teams are sniffing around Phillips?

Southgate watched him once as far as I know, has never been mentioned since by commentators. Southgate probably had a look cos of all the rumours going around.

If I had a choice between picking Ben White and Phillips, I'd pick White every time, he's a much better defender.

Ben White didn’t play a single key pass on Saturday, and Mateusz Klich also failed to play a single key pass the week before against Wigan when he was occupying the defensive midfield position.”

There you go again, belittling other players to make Phillips look good. So far the stats are disagreeing with you.

    Number 7,

Phillips never made Championship team of 2018/2019. Cooper, Jansson and Pablo did.

    Number 8,

You say they're not your words, but you copied and pasted them to try and prove me wrong, therefore, you must be believing everything you see, read and are told....................as they say "only dead fish go with the flow" .............Pirlo.....:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl

    Congratulations..........you asked.

I use a body language specialist... it’s a text only service. He’s great though, uses ground level Birdseye techniques. Only 50p a go. PM me for details.

Quick question, did I say I believe Phillips is the new Pirlo? No I don’t believe I did.

Now roll your neck in, YOU asked me why YOU were wrong about our midfield being better with Phillips in the DM roll over White. You asked me directly.

What’s the point in saying you’re wrong I’m right, there is none so I posted some quick stats and facts. Honestly mate, you do need some help and I don’t want to get in trouble for picking on someone who obviously isn’t quite right so I’m not getting into these proving you wrong conversations any longer.

Everyone can see what Phillips brings, all I’m doing is wasting time and energy trying to make you see sense and I have to ask myself why bother pointing out the obvious to someone who has an issue I’m probably not aware of.

You’ll only get a reply from me in an Admin role if the post calls for it <ok>

Really pleased to see them play well last night, despite the keepers howler. Was hoping to go but had to give the ticket away as struggling with damaged ribs which really fecking hurt :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Thought Klich, Ayling and Phillips played well particularly and to see us take it to one of the form teams chasing autos showed our metal after the recent run. Don’t think Big Kev had long to get into the game and certainly don’t see any negatives about him. Good spell to get him into match fitness. Bamford did the dirty work well on his own up front. Think Brentford have one of the better defences in this league and Patrick kept them busy. With someone alongside his work to feed off him, we could have taken some chances.

Really hoping this is a turn the corner game. We need a run and we need to keep the always incredible in-stadium support going.

‘I’m worried I’m seeing signs of Bielsa getting frustrated with the media at the press conferences and also social media coverage. While fans always question certain decisions, he’s the best thing to happen to his club in well over a decade, from the set up at the training ground, to fitness, preparation and team performance. He’s a very intense and focused man and sometimes this maybe mis-read. Mate was there last night and said that fans were singing his name as he came out second half but he didn’t acknowledge them. That’s a shame but I suspect he was very deep in his thoughts rather than anything else.

We’re getting frustrated, understandably due to recent results but if all it takes is to swap out the keeper for a game or two and to see big Kev and Pov start to contribute to our results, then Leeds are going up, Leeds are going up.

........ oh and Millwall need to do us a favour tonight as well :emoticon-0105-wink: :emoticon-0105-wink: :emoticon-0165-muscl:emoticon-0165-muscl Every little helps......

think we derailed the millwall express... they got humped by the baggies at home afterwards. After their little mid season run of results normal service has been resumed

Massively improved performance to restore faith after the shambles at Forest

    Positives

    Solid performance.
    We were the better side.
Important point to maintain our 2nd position in the league.
First point in London this season.
Kalvin Phillips perfect performance, spraying 30, 40 , 50 yard passes onto Harrison/Costa's feet with ease in difficult windy conditions. Ran the show & dominated from the back & midfield. Immense!
Ayling in the best form of his career.
    Klich good form continues
Dallas at LB makes us much more steadier at the back.
First goal for from one of our CB's this season.
Cooper, much better from our leader after shabby displays v Forest & Wigan.
White solid back in his usual role.
    We scored from a corner.
Kept Brentford's formidable free-scoring front three relatively quiet.
We look so much better without the square pegs in round holes scenario.
Cracking & best atmosphere of the season, made our support at Forest look tinpot.

    Negatives

Not clinical enough in front of goal
Kiko's feeble error again, how many more times?
    Costa's pass back to Raya
    Costa's overall display
    Augustin still unfit

    You do talk some crap

Were you at Brentford where Phillips was spraying accurate 3o, 40, 50 yard passes to our wingers in difficult windy conditions & controlled/dominated the game from the back. Even the Brentford fans are lauding our future England star's performance

No of course you wasn't there, you spend all of your time typing crap from your keyboard

But you're just (if not more) obsessed with him, which is why you have to criticise his every performance. Can't understand why you don't see that and what you call 'infatuation' is simply a response to what all seem to be unwarranted criticism of him.

As much as I hate to criticise Bielsa but he is the only one that sees Dallas as a central midfielder and doesn't see how much weaker we look when he plays there. Also wonder what it does to the confidence of players like Shackleton when he see it happen.
