I get that - but replace by whom? Every other option at #10 since Forshaw has been inconsistent at best.
I believe we’re officially playing 4-1-4-1 so he’s not really a number 10? Shackleton in the middle maybe but yes, when you say by who it’s easier said than done. I think despite what I’ve said the overall balance of the team tonight was the nearest we’re going to get it to being perfect until Forshaw is fit again
Hernandez doesn't play as a 10 though does he ? When we beat WBA at home young Shaks was in there but was subbed at HT for Roberts...who was subbed 20 mins later for Ayling as we were being overrun in midfield...shows what a problem position it is for us since Siaz left.
No, it was the Wally game I was supposed to watch with Mighty. I passed out before our game the day before. Exhausted by the travel, 90 mins sleep etc - but the real killer was the all-inclusive free beer which I steamed into before I'd even been to my room. Mighty didn't turn up, I might add, Must have realised at the last minute who they were playing. Didn't help that my phone doesn't work over here for some reason.
Yup, you're right. I knew what I meant, but misled with the #10. Just meant AM. But you've hit the nail on the head - for some reason I never thought of Shackleton. He'd be a great fit. Then again, in my defence, I guess he was on my 'inconsistents' list - due to injury. Roberts on the same list too.
You do right avoiding a battle of wits with an unarmed man. We all know he’d be happier that Leeds lost to a Philips own goal than Leeds won with bamford scoring.
WUM, really!!................I ain't the one infatuated with Phillips. I'm still trying to get my head around how you seem to all of a sudden are making the forum rules........Like one rule for you, one rule for others. So why do I have no clue Ristac........................don't be cowardly, grow a pair for a change and mention my name, I ain't got nothing against people using my name when making accusations.........in fact, it's a sign of decency and respect, not ignorance when people do it. So, you made a statement, what you forgot to mention is why you think I'm wrong (you want to think I'm wrong in favour of Phillips, I know how you work, your body language sucks) So please do elaborate, let us all know why you think I'm wrong about White. You know what, I was just thinking, you're another Chippy and WJ all rolled into one........................God help us....
Let’s ignore my opinion and look at a few facts as you obviously watch a different game to the rest. “Phillips averages the seventh most tackles per game of any player in the Championship, and his defensive brilliance is there for all to see.” This from midfield, I dare say the six in front of him are defenders. “The fact of the matter is that Phillips isn’t known as the Yorkshire Pirlo for no reason, and he’s as much of a playmaker as he is a tough tackler. The midfielder has been averaging two key passes per game from defensive midfield, and the men that have stepped in to replace him just haven’t hit those heights. Ben White didn’t play a single key pass on Saturday, and Mateusz Klich also failed to play a single key pass the week before against Wigan when he was occupying the defensive midfield position.” Jermaine Beckford has said that the return of Kalvin Phillips is huge for Leeds United tonight and that stand-in Ben White was always going to be “half a pace behind”. Kevin Phillips - “It’s always a blow when you lose arguably one of the best midfielders in the country in that position,” https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/a...s-hail-immense-individual-for-instant-impact/ - Fans on twitter. None are my words, now why don’t you go and find some facts or someone else who shares your warped opinion of Phillips. The fact is, every genuine fan sees what Phillips brings to the team. I only debate his qualities with you continually on this forum as you’re the only one who unjustly wants to crucify him, it just isn’t natural. At the end of the season he’ll be in the team of the year as voted by other professionals, he has teams sniffing around him, Southgate watching him, every Leeds coach or manager has picked him, every Leeds fan noting his importance but you are the odd one out. I don’t honestly believe anyone can be that stupid so yes you are just being a WUM and shame on me for biting at your CliveTime antics.
Mate there comes a time when the best things to do with idiots is ignore them. Don't give them the attention they crave.
Morning all. In the cold light of day, looking back on last night, it was back to how we played before Christmas thankfully. Brentford are a good side and we didn't give them a sniff. No one mentioned Klich, I thought he was everywhere again. I think Philips being back frees Klich, Ayling and even Dallas at LB to get forward more. He is also the out ball the defence need when they are being pressed. I think Costa and Harrison have a problem with end product. Costa is working back much better than he used to but very little comes from him. Pablo tries to link the play up in the middle and I don't think he gets the credit for the work he does but way more than that, he knows how to shoot and with either foot! What about Hernandez for Costa on the right and Alioski for Harrison? I don't think JK is ready yet but he has the same problem that Eddie had, trying to make something happen in 15-20 mins against settled defenders. We aren't going to London any more. We've got some easier games, on paper, coming up. If only football was played on paper.
Klich always plays like that when Dallas is moved out of the middle of the park. That's what happens when you play wingers in central midfield.
