Derby will be tough - they've turned things around and have just beaten a good Swansea side, then WBA and Leeds await - wow!!!

But yet again we shot ourselves in the foot.
Big games coming up. Given how unpredictable we (and others) continue to be, we could win all 3 of these but equally lose them all too. The teams with the balls to grit their teeth over the next few weeks and grind out the necessary results will be the winners come May.

What is it that makes Bristol City so remarkably bad at sealing the deal when it comes to achieving success. I have this memory that in one season years ago we had the chance to secure an automatic promotion spot which we blew and then went on to lose in the final when we could have done way better. The same scenario looks like happening, or somewhere close, again this time out. A great shame especially given the words coming out of Ashton Gate during recent seasons about our however many year plans.

A mere 12 years ago when we signed Dele Adebola and Nick Carle in the January window instead of really proven players who could have got us over the line as being promoted automatically. It didn't take a genius to see what was needed, even if we'd paid over the odds for on loan players.
I went to Southampton away in the March or April of that year. They were in the relegation places, and we were top of the league.
Needless to say we got beaten 2-0, didn't show up on the day, and duly slid down the table out of the auto spots, and the rest is history, despite the thriller of the play off semis.

sometimes things happen for a reason! were we good enough to stay up or could we have followed the trend and finished up in div 1 or even 2!

remember that defeat I think most thought it was a 2 or 3 -0 victory guaranteed
