Forest Hill
Hard to see us getting anything from this one. The January transfer window has been a massive damp squib, and our midfield must step up otherwise we'll be overrun.

Football is a strange game that does throw up unexpected results. But truly anything other than a heavy defeat for Charlton on Tuesday will be a miracle.

Damage limitation is the best we can realistically hope for.
Forest could easily put 4 or 5 past us, and we cannot afford to lose half of our GD advantage over Wigan.

Wigan are at home to Middlesbrough on the same night.

The gap could easily be 1 point come 22.00

I would expect Wigan to win that game.

It's beginning to look like only Barnsley and Luton are weaker than us.
22nd place will be no comfort on the last day of the season.

What a wasted opportunity.
After all the seasons of yearning to be back in a respectable league. Duchatelet and ESI throw it away.
We are at the mercy of bunglers and fools.

It's not been a good start, very worrying(a bit like the disappearance of Mr ban Gerwen<whistle>).

Southall tweeted that the lads "tried hard". Those who were there don't agree. Even against Barnsley we lost nearly all the 50/50's. The result papered over the cracks.

The stats charts that I post after each game have not made good reading for a long time.

For months, every opponent - good or bad - has been having 60% or more possession and (on average) twice as many corners and shots (on & off target) as us.
That's not too serious every now and then.
But I estimate it has been that way for about 18 of our last 20 games.

And there is no sign of improvement.

IMHO the problem is that we don't have the players to play it out through the midfield, especially with Gallagher gone.

We’ve lost the creativity we’ve had and there’s no signs of it having been replaced as yet.

Taylor can only do so much with the lack of service he’s being given and add to that the league one defence we have and it doesn’t look rosy.

That said this is my first away of the new year and I’m determined to enjoy it come what may, though I’m thinking the joy ain’t coming from the result. Windy northern winter Tuesday. Slim joy in that sentence.

If I knew for sure that I could get a ticket on the night I would go for up this one, as my elder daughter is studying Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, meaning I could combine a visit with the football.

But what are the chances of getting a ticket at the ground?

If you have a printer you can get a print-at-home ticket. I had a look at the website, and prices are cheaper for home fans, which I thought was illegal. There is nothing on the website about buying at the ground on the day, so you'd have to phone them up.

Good move by your daughter. I studied Fine Art in Newcastle. I caught Charlton winning there 2-0, 3-1 and 4-3, plus a rare 2-1 win at Ayresome Park.
