So sorry to hear about your loss... as has been said, it’s not the natural order. Don’t be embarrassed and good you feel you can share amongst friends - both ‘real’ and virtual. I have two youngish kids and it’s hard to not have morbid ‘there but for the grace of god go I’ thoughts at times when you hear others’ tragic stories. likewise Heidi, Ringo and any others battling through life dealing with personal tragedy - shared today or otherwise... Another virtual man hug to you all from this poster.
I was following the thread while the game was on but once the result was confirmed I closed it down. I totally understand the frustration with what is happening again and I just wish the team could over achieve, just once! I was totally fed up with it all. Today I turned on the radio and that dick the Moose was talking about the Championship. He said that Brentford were scoring for fun, WBA had five strikers, Forest had Grabban but he couldn't see where Leeds' goals would come from. I turned it off and didn't turn the radio on until this evening. I wanted to hear the forecast so turned on 5 live. Robbie Savage was hosting a phone in with a Leeds fan and giving her stick about Leeds bottling it again! Someone up there wants to shove it down my throat so when I got it I read this thread, from page 14. I wasn't going to post anything but then read about the family tragedies and, as others have said, it brings it all into perspective. My heart goes out to each of you who have suffered a loss but I'd like to thank you for giving me a kick up the arse. Bring on Brentford. We all know we're going to lose. We all know we'll struggle to make the play offs but at least we won't go down. We all know we'll be in the **** next year because no one will be able to do what Bielsa has done with these players. But Things could be worse. The two things I really remember was someone saying that it's the hope that kills you. Absolutely. And seeing Luke Ayling. He gives his heart and soul every game and he looked like he was close to tears. I think we need to remember that they're not actually very good, their best isn't always enough. I think our problem is in the final third. The quality of our delivery is shocking.
Conor has got an opinion like the rest of us ll, just because he posts on youtube doesn't make him right
I agree OIof, I don't always share Conors, Oscars and Wainmanjoes views. I post their videos cos it's a variety of views and opinions and people can see it's not only this forum that has opinions.......
Missed a good lump of yesterday as I was otherwise occupied so just catching up. Sympathies to shaks and all others who have suffered tragedies but a massive well done for reaching out. People don’t do that near enough in my opinion. As others pointed out, ir puts football into perspective. Maybe it’s an age thing but years ago Leeds results were probably the most important part of my weekend but in recent years, I’d have to say, the defeats in particular don’t hurt near as much. Probably partly due to kids growing up, changing jobs, having grandkids and inevitably loved ones passing away are all far more important in the grand scheme
What pissed you off the most, moose and Robbie savage or the fact that what they were saying was bang on?
It was painful because it was spot on. A Chelsea fan rang in and said that it may surprise everyone but he really wants to see Leeds back in the Prem. I'm asked all the time why Leeds bottle it every year and I don't know. This year it's conceding important goals and not scoring enough but we've had goalscorers; McContract, Wood etc and we've had keepers that have been good enough but we have still not managed it. It ruins my weekend when we lose. Not so much to Forest because they are up there with us and on form, but to fkn Wigan! Forest had us in their pockets on Saturday. We couldn't break them down, as is shown by the limited shots on target, and every time they went forward they looked dangerous. Forest aren't that good, Brentford are more dangerous going forward. Contrary to one on here I think we really missed Kalvin, not only in midfield but also because it disrupted the defence. Ben White was poor. Because we usually lose our heads in the final third and don't have anyone who can make something happen like the other top teams do, I can't see how it will change . Pablo is getting frustrated and Costa hasn't really performed to the level we need. I actually don't think it's Bielsaball that needs changing. I think the personnel, apart from a couple, are just not at it. I think we improved when Shackleton came on Saturday so hopefully with him, Forshaw and Roberts back it will give us that punch going forward. Hopefully Poveda and JK will get up to speed quickly too. Harrison and Costa don't drive forward enough especially Costa so the defence has time to regroup and we're faced with a brick wall. The ball comes out, goes right, goes left, is crossed in, usually very poorly, or it finds a defender. If it does find one of ours the finishing has been dreadful. I really don't think Bamford can head the ball. He will never be a prolific striker, he just doesn't get in the right positions. How many has he scored at the near post? I really hope the players coming back make a difference because I can't see this team doing anything different. I can't see us getting anything at Brentford so this is going to be a **** week too.
Lack of investment every season by owners has been main reason for our demise. Squad never strengthened when requured
the problems are exactly the same as last year... efficiency at both ends of the pitch. We’ve had good strikers and decent keepers blono but in otherwise average teams. Stick prime Mccontract in this side and we’re miles clear at the top. If we’d had a decent keeper for the last two months worst case we’d still be top. These things get compounded as errors lead to bad results lead to loss of confidence. Goal scorer and reliable keeper and we’re not just top we’re walking it. I think there have only been 3/4 games max this season where the opposition have had the edge in terms of chances. They don’t need an edge if we gift wrap theirs and don’t take ours.
I've just looked at the fixtures and results. I was looking for a ray of light and after the Brentford game, on paper, we have some very winnable ones. Our form has been terrible since we conceded three to Cardiff in the 2nd half so it's not like they've cussed us out, it's us.
this sussed us bit you hear is a nonsense. Sides have known what was coming since August 2018 and largely set up to counter... some are more aggressive with the press, which we’ve seen a bit more of... but we still have all the possession and largely most of the chances. Counts for nothing if you don’t make it count... and we aren’t at the moment
I've looked back at the line ups through our 7 game unbeaten run. Two players who played more minutes then than now, in particular, are Roberts and less so Berardi. It's not scientific but I think Roberts gives us more urgency going forward so the chances we get are better. Berardi played a few of the games too. I remember thinking we'd struggle at the back but him and White were a solid pair.
Bad news about Roberts is apparently he left city ground on crutches Saturday. Im sure Bielsa will shed more light on his injury in todays presser
Interestingly I said that weeks ago on Twitter re him and Forshaw. You should have seen the reaction from some of the true supporters I wouldn't be rated as one of course. Id be curious though, who would take either
Berardi is always solid, gives 120% every match, even when team are playing badly. Can't understand why Bielsa dropped Berardi, he's the most experienced, fearless and never say die defender we have........Maybe that's why he doesn't fit into Bielsa's plans, and why we ain't doing so well without him......
Was saying similar things about Roberts back then Eire, you have to understand how it works on here, someone makes a statement, or prediction, they then cop flack from others, eventually, others prove you right.......
