Is there a competition going on, as to which ref gives most free kicks/ yellow cards against Sunderland.looks that way.

Do you think the likes of Marriner and Friend are any better?

Hume's yellow was ridiculous however, I think realised it cos he gave one of their players a yellow shortly afterwards to even it out.

Yes, there’s a conspiracy going on against Sunderland with referees. They all get together and discuss how they can hinder our club and enhance their careers by giving as many fouls and yellow cards against us as possible.

Every single club in this league has terrible decisions going against them and sometimes we benefit from that and sometimes we are on the receiving end. We are quickly chasing Liverpool down as the ‘victim club’ and I don’t like it.

When both sets of fans are chanting at the referee hasn't got a clue, it tells you all you need to know about the standard of refereeing. You tend to find it's often the fans who think we're too good for this division that complain about hard done to by the referee.

I think the standard of the officials in this league are absolutely shocking, beyond ****e. My opinion has **** all to do with being biased against us. It's across the board for every team. Lads at work, Peterborough fans, say the same for example.

As I blather on about ad infinitum, I see quite a few West Ham games each season, watch a lot of non-league, and occasionally go to games across Europe, as well as Sunderland games. The fans of pretty much every team I've ever seen think that they are treated unfairly by referees. They aren't. Or not any more so than anyone else.

A couple of blokes behind me were screaming at the ref when Wyke was given offside when he had the ball in the net first half, they were screaming that he could never be offside and he was onside a mile.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I sit in the East Stand level with the North Stand eighteen yard line so how they could even express an opinion from the opposite end of the pitch is beyond me.

Referees are human, they're bound to make mistakes at some point. Everyone thought that technology would improve this sort of thing but VAR is universally despised in the Premier League. At least refereeing mistakes provide controversies and talking points (and something to moan about!). It's all part of the game in my opinion.

I don't believe there's a conspiracy of any sort but the one thing I would say is that a lot of these refs will never have officiated in front of anything like a 30,000 crowd, and some of them are enjoying the limelight a bit too much.

Doesn't necessarily mean their decisions will go against us but it might nudge them that way depending on how their mind works. They certainly get more attention when they give a 50/50 call against us. You can see it plain as day how much some of them are enjoying the drama that they cause.

When it comes to getting offsides etc wrong that's just them being ****e.

How many League 1 clubs have had an apology from PGMOL this season?

I've done some digging and I can't find any. Only apologiy to any League 1 club I can find this season is to us!

it is a conspiracy there should be a letter going to FIFA at the end of the season about this and all the evidence to get shot of these refs for next season, Phil should stop playing Wyke because we are worse off sadly as he will not get a decision. That back pass for instance will any other team get a one against them in this division NO.

They're human beings like the rest of us. I know quite a few that I've come across when I was reffing. David Webb, Seb Stocksbridge, Geoff Eltringham, all EFL refs, Gary Beswick, PL Assistant Ref. All very good refs who I can assure you are as honest as the day is long. There's no conspiracy, trust me. I do agree tho some get caught in the headlights. They will learn from it.

Credit where credits due, I hardly noticed the ref last night, which is the way it should be. Thought his performance was excellent, and hope we get him in future games, instead of the ones who crave being the centre of attention.

Certainly one of the better ones that we have seen , he has been on the league list a long time so is therefore very experienced . The general standard has been poor and they do not appear to get much help from their linesmen who are prone not to want to make decisions and are frequently behind play , problem is we are in the third tier and therefore generally get third tier Referees who are working their way up the pyramid . Goodness only knows what the standard is in EFL2 .

The son of a friend of mine is at Level 4 in the refs chain, so in the upper non-league echelon, and has commented many times on how helpful Geoff Eltringham has been to his career.
