Great post but **** off with ya Jay Z fam. He's not on the others level, he just happened to come in as they were tailing off so had a pretty much clear run.
And there you were thinking I was a gonna. Gon have to wait till another day to get your hands on my rock collection bro.
Jay is up there with the best of them bro, he’s just had too much commercial attention since the early 2000’s. Reasonable Doubt was ****ed up, that album is 10/10 every day of the week.
No Mate, I disagree. He's very good but nowhere near the legend status of the others. He came in at a perfect time and cleaned up. Jay Z in the mid 90's would have just been a bit meh. All taste I guess but his bars, wordplay etc. are weak in comparison.
Reasonable doubt was 96 bro, he blew up. It’s a top 10 of all time album imo. He’s not on Biggie’s level cos nobody is, but he and Ye are both victims of their ego, two phenomenal rappers who just forgot their roots and chased their brand.
Depends how you define a good MC to be honest as well. Somebody who can spit bars but can’t make good music is a waste of time, like Redman. Reggie could be the ****ing GOAT if he could write a ****in lyric! What’s he done 5/6 decent tracks in 20 years?
He was biggies street link to sell gear. And sold a lot of it he did so the story goes. Has some class tracks though tbf, but i spose when you put out 700 albums youre bound to get one or two bang on.
I know he'll go down as top 10. I just personally don't see it. His music always seems a bit pop to me, maybe I should go back and listen to it though. Might have a few days of him spotify and get back to ya.
He’s always teamed up with the stars, which has its obvious flaws for a ‘nigga from the street’ but I think he does well mostly. He’s a brand now though, not an MC. It’s easy to hate him, and Kanye.
