I am office based . pretty much an even split between us and women . Still say they are less bitchy and often better at doing the job than we are . Not always , but often .
but unfortunately studies have shown it does i.e. 2 (test) identical CV's are sent one from Martin Clark & one from Majid Khan and yet in a sizeable percentage of cases only Martin got an interview . The same applied with disabled cases as well .
I used to put it on my CV but that was because there was no point in turning up only to find there was no wheelchair access . Though one twat obviously didn't bother reading it as it became obvious to me that the slightly odd atmosphere as they fetched the manager and the constant glancing at the stairs was because the job i applied for was based upstairs .
Email addresses are a good barometer as well. [email protected] Bin that boring ****. [email protected] Auto-hire.
Well I wouldn't apply that if I was the employer, so although you're probably right as an overall analysis I'm purely going on my thoughts/views. The flip side for me personally is I wouldn't want a guaranteed interview if I was disabled. I'd want that interview through merit.
The fact is there is discrimination in all walks of life. Movies are no different. White privilege is an actual fact. Women, disabled, ethnic minorities are discriminated against. It's an undeniable fact. The only cùnts that moan about positive discrimination are the cùnts that aren't ever likely to suffer discrimination. You will hear them if they ever do. Greeting cùnts
think you're missing the point here . You are not guaranteed an interview if you are disabled but you are guaranteed an interview if you meet the job criteria .
No I'm not missing the point. My point is getting a guaranteed interview because of a disability (in my opinion. I agree not on the whole as studies show) is a joke. I'd happily employ someone with a disability and it wouldn't make any difference in my choice of candidate.
That’s great. Surely the point is not everyone is as enlightened as you. With stuff like this and the Rooney rule I wonder how much difference it really makes but don’t see what harm it can do.
Tell you who are discriminated against, folk over 60. I had one in early Jan for interview and he run rings round the rest but he told us he was retiring in 12 months. Too much outlay to bomb in 12 months, but if he’d have given us two years I’d have snapped his hand off. I bet loads are rejected for being too close to retirement, despite being experienced and ticking all the boxes.
So 2 people and 1 of those 2 are disabled. If they both went for a job and both met the criteria, both would be guaranteed an interview? Or is there a scheme that guarantees the disabled candidate an interview in that scenario?
