Some films carry themselves, some films are made great by the characters and the actors that play them.

Gangs of New York wouldn’t have been as good if Matt Damon played Bill The Butcher.

Mission Impossible would be infinitely better if a proper actor had the lead role.

Star Wars would be awful no matter who they recruited.

I would struggle to think of any film that would be made better by bad actors. Bad films have been made better by good actors though. Joker being a prime example of that.

 

i like the films... i just dont like people talking about performances ... all i hear is that... maybe its because the films these days are dull

 

There’s films that can be equally as good though. Mainly blockbuster movies. The actor is just a prop in most cases with blockbuster movies.

Also, Adam Sandler would deliver a performance of the Waterboy far better than Daniel Day Lewis ever could. There’s one off the bat, it’s not always art.

Actually Sandler is a terrific actor. He is excellent in uncut Gems.

 

Blair Witch Project would have been far better if they’d cast Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson.
