Lovren was **** against Shrewsbury but he wasn’t the only one plus he was coming back from injury. This is the first and last time I will defend him! With that said, I’d be surprised if we don’t offload him. He’s behind Gomez and Matip, around 30 and injury prone. On top of that, he’s just not a good defender. We should look to bring in a quality young CB who will be ok to rotate. Perhaps someone who can play both RB and CB. I like neco but I need to see more of him before I pass judgement. Then I’d bring in a LB to provide cover for Robbo. We have very little cover and I’m not confident with Larouci and Lewis. Robbo has looked a bit leggy this season. Finally, we need a big name for the front 3. One of Werner or Sancho are probably the most likely to join. The front 3 are so good but we do drop off when any one of them are out. We need to bridge that gap between them and Origi/Ox/Shaq.
Haha I don’t mind. I think his time was done years ago. But he’s come in, does a decent enough job, doesn’t kick up a fuss and trains hard. Wish him all the best
weirdly in the few games he has had this season he has probably been consistently at a higher level than the last few seasons . Possibly it is because he is getting so little game time .
Lovren was definitely at fault for their goal with a half hearted challenge but I guess I was more surprised by Matip because I hadn't seen him play so badly before. We sort of know what we're going to get with Lovren but expect better from Matip because he's been playing at a different level. Maybe it was the drop in his play that stood out to me.
You're right. His last couple of games have earned him lots of praise. His overall contribution has been one of the biggest disappointments imo. Although, as you say, he trains hard and always gives his best when he does play. He looked like a real prospect when he came but hasn't improved as much as I thought he would.
think quite a few clubs will be in for him so he can just take his pick but yeah a Saints reunion sounds highly likely and would thrill both parties . @Libby to confirm .
My mates a massive saints fan, and absolutely detest him. Think how Suarez,Torres, owen left roll it all into one and triple it. He came through their ranks, club captain and then shat on them as soon as the opportunity arose to move on to bigger and better, is how he sees it. I don't think hes alone, I'm not sure he would be very welcome back down there
I noticed the boos for Virgil at the weekend. I'd say get over it but then I think of the treatment Sterling gets from our fans. I hate booing; it's childish.
Nah i love a good bit of ****housery from fans to oppo players, it deffo works on sterling anyway, hes been gash ever since Anfield when vvd threw him off his back like a ragdoll and gomez showed him up and treated him like a naughty child
Yes Booing is for kids at pantomimes, an 'appropriately' worded chant shows some thought went into it
