    This is their stance on racism...

    https://www.premierleague.com/NoRoomForRacism

    That's directly taken from their own website. Lots of words, that eventually boil down to this...

    Quote;

    This includes ensuring that offences can be readily reported and that all available sanctions are used to deter offending and punish those found guilty of racism. The League will work with clubs and fans – and build upon existing partnerships with the Police, Crown Prosecution Service, stewards and supporter groups – to maintain a consistent approach to racist abuse.

    But...

    When it comes to protecting Premier League Chairman, we get this...

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51405905

    On Thursday it was announced that fans who behave in an "unacceptable" manner towards players, supporters, club employees or referees will face a Premier League-wide ban.

    Let's get this right, if you behave in an 'unacceptable' manner...https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51405903

    So racism don't count as an 'unacceptable' manner, ok bruv - Two wrongs, only one gets clearly spelt out justice.

    Obviously it states about discrimination in the second link, but it is no where near as clearly portrayed as it is with protecting their precious Chairman.

    I don't even see how any Premier club can even enforce a lifetime ban, unless they are insisting on DNA samples now or in the windmill case, a sample of semen.

    I really think it's a shame what they have done to West Ham. Obviously I'm getting old and it's called progress, but I just see people ripping the heart out of our game, and you've hit the nail on the head to why.

    As far as I'm aware if someone gets a lifetime banning order they have to report to a police station at kick off time for each match and depending on the seriousness of their offence or whether they were also convicted of an offence, can be made to surrender their passport before any international games their team may have.

    Football Spectators Act 1989.
    Public Order Act 1986.

    Questions then;

    So if they get a lifetime banning order at say for example 16....they are still going to have to report to the police station when they reach say 70?

    What are they deeming as a lifetime ban, I just do not see how this is enforecable. Under EU rules (yes, I know Brexit), they could have travelled or moved to anywhere in Europe as an excuse, how are British police going to maintain checks regarding their whereabouts or return. And as you say IF they are convicted of an offence, from what I saw from the Prem League, they are going to be banning people, regardless of what the law thinks or does.

    To make it fully enforceable to any degree would start moving into their human rights.

    I can see it now, I turn up outside a Chairmans house, merely to shout he's a kunt. Police can't really prosecute because they have no evidence, or even if they did have evidence, it would be a minor offence and a waste of resources. But the Prem League regardless of all that issue me with a lifetime ban from all football grounds. I know damn well I'd be able to get in to a ground, regardless of what the Prem think they can do.

    I got banned from Boothferry Park for 12 months for running on the pitch and pulling a moonie at a Wycombe striker.

    According to the CPS website the longest a banning order can be is 10 years. Once the order is issued, the person has 5 days to report to their local police station and hand over their passport. Whether or not it's detained depends on the circumstances of the order.

    I'm sure it would be quite easy to get into a game that you are banned from but I don't intend finding out :bandit:

    It is amusing the Prem League chucking around these ridiculous statements. I just wonder what world they live in. Police don't even have resources at the best of times, without banning orders having to be monitored.

    After the Man U house headline, it was a complete over reaction - if that had been on a council estate, you'd have been lucky to find a cop able to turn up. These Chairman are worth millions, they can hire their own protection as far has I'm concerned, the snivelling little scumbags.

    Football banning orders have always worked that way, you don't have to be convicted of a criminal offence to receive one. In fact a court can still hand one down if you're acquitted in a trial.

    Always thought it was ridiculous.
