Any other NFL fans on here?

I've tried the NFL forum, but it's even more deserted than the SoL on matchday;).

I enjoy watching it but i find it's always on way too late. The adverts are a bit annoying as well, but the actual time in play is brilliant!

Not really. You have 4 go's to get a total of 10 yards, by running with the ball or by passing it, then you get 4 more go's, etc. If you don't do it, the other team gets the ball, so if you have 1 go left, you often kick the ball as far down field as possible so the opposition has further to go with it.

    Is 18:00 really late?

The adverts are annoying, but as its usually just 1, thats ok. There's also far more in America, we mostly just get the dulcet tones of Kevin Cadle.

The advertisers pay mega $'s for air time during the game and unfortunately it's their money that keeps the game going. Got to put up with the adverts I'm afraid.

Yeah that's what i was thinking! I only ever really stay up to watch the Superbowl due to it being a big sporting event, but otherwise it's just way too late!

Never been a fan myself I have to admit. Visited America a number of times and been to a few NFL and NBA games, and the fans' lack of attention span always amazes me. Spoke to a few locals and they couldn't quite grasp the concept of sitting and watching the action for 45 minutes with no Titantron, cheerleader or spectator based intervention every 5 minutes.

If they actually got off the fat asses and started some chants then they might know what it feels like to be supporters rather than spectators who occasionally cheer the odd touchdown or two...

Been to the States a few times and talked to the fans of both football and basketball myself. The basketball fans seem to be by far the most passionate.

I brought an American friend over here and took him to a home, and an away game, and he couldn't believe the level of passion and support that was evident.

When I was in MSG for the Knicks games, you could see the 'hardened' support, if you will, however, there was an inability from the vast majority of fans to stay in their seats for more than 5 minutes. If there was a slight lull in play (and this is basketball) they would become restless. I dread to think what 90 minutes of watching Shola would do to them!

    Big fan of NFL.

Used to play it at junior high when I lived in the states. Used to have season tickets to the Giants when we lived in New Jersey and would watch every home game. Dad also took us to a Super Bowl in California.
