Couldn’t agree more, start rotating in the league - give Jones, Williams, Elliott some starts in the prem, not all at the same time of course but integrate them and let’s go full strength in CL and FA Cup

We should go all out for the FA Cup, I still see it as a major trophy. Nothing wrong with a bit of rotation though.

Also wouldn’t they all be entitled to a medal if we won it now? Be rude not to deliver

All the great sides win doubles and trebles, I'm not counting the 2 we've won as major trophies although they are nice to have but I'm in full greedy mode now and want this team to show how great they are by getting the FA Cup and CL again. Get past Athletico and we've knocked out the best team left other than us IMO and we'll go close again.

Playing all the kids against Chelsea away strikes me as an unnecessary risk and possibly damaging to their confidence . I'd ,like Luv , more look at playing a couple of them with a strong team of first team / squad players and using at least 1 more as a sub .

The kids did well last night, but we shouldn't forget that Shrews are a League 1 side, despite their showing in the first leg.
Chelsea would be an entirely different proposition.
I agree that there's the risk of a heavy defeat that could be demoralising to them.
It depends on Klopp's attitude to the cup - if he thinks it's worth the effort to win then he'll have to mix the side up, the alternative is to give the young ones their head and just see how far they can go.

A genius move by Klopp - 'I've never got past the fourth round Neil, do you want to give it a go?' <whistle>

Coupled with giving the competition what it yearns for, an unusual match-up and an unpredictable and unforeseen outcome ...... and the reward for the football loving, cup watching nation ....... not on tv.

I said a while ago, the FA are destroying their own competition and that move by them last night was just the latest example.

I very much doubt the FA could give BT permission to show the game unless the BBC agreed and why would they .

Last season City counted the Community Shield. So the Super Cup and Club World Cup definitely count.

They count yes but not as much as that FA Cup would. I really think we can win it.

Does make you wonder about putting U23s into the football league. I know it's been talked about in the past, but our lot dominated the game last night and could probably handle their own in that league

So you think the decision to put Oxford on BBC and not Liverpool was driven by the fact more fans around the world were interested in that game <laugh>

err only people living in UK can see BBC live coverage (legally) and i've seen nothing to suggest that the Beeb didn't decide that the Newcastle Oxford tie was the one they wanted to show .Probably because we were playing our U23s so reducing the attractiveness of our tie which was confirmed by the cut in ticket prices .

Going through to adult football is a big change, some handle it well and others need that physical development. My oldest decided to do it when he was 17, he had played in Cardiff and Swansea academies and decided to play adult footy for a year on my advice so went into a Welsh League 1 team with an ex Wales and Cardiff player in charge. Straight away you could see he was a better player than everyone but couldn't dominate in the air anymore (CB) took him a while to learn how to get up and over or through the bigger players, there's also a learning curve with mistakes, watch an academy game and there are mistakes and it doesn't matter so much but all of a sudden it means more and you have to focus and minimise the mistakes or you'll be punished and coaches will also not be as forgiving.

We have a good group but only some of them will make it, I'm not so sure that team would handle L1 teams week in week out.
