https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...rtsmouth-fans-verbally-abused-supporters.html Sportsmail understands that Donald was targeted by Sunderland supporters as he left Fratton Park with his young son following Saturday's 2-0 defeat. Awful if true and his young son was involved.
There must be some objective evidence of this surely with so many apparent witnesses? Hopefully it's not from Donald himself.
Daily Mail enough said - funnily enough I have just watched program where the then secretary of state was preparing for a press conference and her "advisors were telling her which journo's from which publications she should answer questions from" - the FT (financial times) and the DM were two of them as I said enough said.
Disgusting if true. IF ... The "story" seems very thin on detail. An interview with one of those heroic Pompey fans saving Donald perhaps? As this is the Daily "Hurrah for the Blackshirts" Mail I'll take the story with a hundredweight of salt.
No police comments, no Pompey hero comments, no Donald quotes, nothing at all ... .... we don't half take a pasting in the media. At the Oxford game tonight the Mags were singing their usual foul mouthed abuse at Ashley who was there. The camera panned over to Ashley while the commentator made a joke about it and praised the Mags. We were panned for moaning about both Short and Donald ... ... yet anyone mentioning a media bias is branded as paranoid.
We all need to accept that unfortunately every club has a very small minority of red necked troglodytes for whom nothing is sacred and everyone is fair game.
The sun mentioned it .. Still, Ashley — who is actually from Buckinghamshire — received his customary greeting of “you fat Cockney b*****d, get out of our club” as his side made hard work of what had looked like being a straightforward night. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10893962/oxford-newcastle-saint-maximin-magpies-fa-cup/
The crazy thing is that they actually take their fans' side and condone them abusing him week in, week out, even when they are mid-table Premier League and spending £35m on one player. It's all because they're worked up thinking a mythical takeover is waiting to go through.
Or label it as..... MIKE ASHLEY will never feel the love of the Toon Army, even if he goes strutting down Wembley Way to watch Newcastle in May. The hated owner of St James’ Park was given an ear-bashing by the travelling supporters as he made a rare visit to see his team.
If Donald reads that article, and sees no truth in it, he should ban the journalists from that paper from all press conferences and matches. It appears to me that there is very little to back this up, apart from a gloating Pompey fan, and we know from last season that they have their fair share of delinquent fans.
They say we have picked up but the damage has been done now, Maja first now mcGeady and NOT getting Maddison , boyce, (or anyone of a load of good strikers in this division in January, between Murray, Short and now him they have made us a laughing stock and this is within the last 34 years of our 141 year history.
