There has been massive overemphasis on the stats from our match. Of course they don't look good for us, but it's almost being reported like no team that has won a match with less possession and far fewer shots. I would suggest that when Citeh lose, they always have more possession than the team that wins! I've also heard "the best team lost" a few times, and lots of comments about us being lucky. Well Citeh were lucky that Sterling didn't get sent off, which would lead them to playing a rather large part of the match with 10 - which we saw they didn't do so well when it happened later. In fact the whole Sterling challenge has been rather glossed over, with many saying that it was properly given a yellow. I would suggest that is probably because of who made the "tackle" - which should of course not matter. It is however certain that many have been sent off for less.

    Pass map time

please log in to view this image

That's a much better spread of passes than we were seeing even a month ago, especially the trio of Son, Bergwijn and Dele that looks less like a pass map and more like somebody was testing a biro on the piece of paper to see if it had any ink in it, and it's good to see the amount of traffic to Winks and Lo Celso in midfield

The only real quibble is Lucas passing to Son and...no, just Son, and literally nobody else on the pitch. Well, that and Sanchez passing to Lloris more than Winks...

Out of all the City attempts which we are reminded were 18 , only 5 were on target. Anyone can shoot randomly off target so that doesn't really tell a story. Spurs had 3 on target. Does it matter at what stage in the game?
As for possession, as annoying as it is, and we should know, a team can dominate but it is what they do with it.

The defence seems to be Sterling is not that sort of player. That is an incredible (literally) argument. The player with potentially a broken leg will take no solace from the fact that he isn't usually a dirty player. This is also why Dele would have been sent off for it, and that is not right.

Thought you guys played well and organised.

Weathered the storm from city who missed a few decent chances but after agueros sitter and raheems bad ball (cant remember which one was later) they didnt look like troubling you at all.

Agree with dh, tanganga and winks were bother excellent as to was davinson sanchez. Hugo came up with some top saves alongside his mandatory brain fart.

Also thought sterling should have gone for his challenge.

A good and unexpected win for you boys though

I love to watch good, attacking football but there's no point in playing like we did under Ossie, with too many attacking players and getting beat more than we win. Mourinho's selections against United and Chelsea were ****ing ridiculous and we got what we deserved..

We're really set up to play on the counter and have been for some time. That's not a problem, so long as we don't go full 'United Mourinho' and completely lose the ability to take the game to 'lesser' teams, who do it to us.

We've got pacy forwards in Lucas, Son and Bergwijn and when Kane returns, a smart central striker who can release them (as well as Lo Celso and Ndombelre from deeper positions), If we tighten up defensively, which he's finally getting around to, that will serve us well and we'll be back where we should be with these players.

He just needs to remember to mix it up a bit.

Today's excuse from their fans: Winks diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiived

In other words, while Saltypool fans have turned into Man Utd fans circa 2005, Sheikh Mansour Team fans have turned into Saltypool fans since time immemorial

I think that the media have just backed him because he wasn't sent off. If Dean had shown a red, then there'd be no dissent.
It left me wondering what it took to get a red against us, as I watched it on my phone while Alli was receiving treatment.
Zinchenko was stupid enough to show us later on, thankfully.

That just reminded me of something else that annoyed me, which was Alli going off to come back on.
All of the officials seem to have forgotten that it's not necessary, as the man who committed the foul was booked. ****ing useless.

The place went a bit mental when Lloris saved the penalty and the VAR didn't give them another go.
The cheerio chorus for the red was quite funny, then it went back to lunacy with the goals. Great atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon.

I think the possession thing is hooey. You can pass to each other all day while the opposition just waits.Doesn't ALWAYS prove anything!

.and the goalie thing....who's saved the most? It's got to be a goalie at the lower end of the table.Does it prove he is any better than goalies at the top end?

I would like to see what goalies take the most time with goal kicks etc!

Interesting stat out today....City have conceded over 15.6% of shots on target this season. That's apparently the worst record of ANY team in the PL since OPTA started recording that stat in 2003! Obviously their goalie is rubbish....

    others are weird.
    1. Attacking Man U's CEO's house with flares.(United fans?)
    2. 2 muggers threatening to kill Ozil (Arsenal fans?)

After the raging success of season one, season two of "DH's Road Trips" is back by popular demand. This week, DH took a trip to City's Blue Moon forum for their thoughts pre, during and post game.

    Pre-match thread:

Hate it when we play a club who have just made new signings, always gives them a boost. Can see us losing this 2-0.
Can you send me your lotto number predictions please?

Actually want us to drop points so dippers can’t win the league at our place :) soz
Ahhhh so that's why we won.

Spurs haven't been great of late, but will be lifted by the signing of Bergwijn.
More than you could imagine, brother!

Spurs generally get beaten off every decent team they play and I expect us to score 3 on Sunday
    Ooof, awkwaaaard.

I think Tanganga against Mahrez is gonna be a blood bath in our favour. Lo Celso and Winks is a midget pivot as well
    Double <laugh> on both counts.

Pretty confident now the Zinch is back
    Another - ooof, awkwaaaard.

****ing kill them. Couple of dodgy VAR decisions going our way and I'll be beaming.
Well you did get two dodgy VAR decisions (pen and no red for Sterling), you beaming then?

    Match thread, first half:

(VAR Penalty call) Ha ha Fook you spurs.
    No, haha back to you.

Gundy to take it. I’m afraid if anyone else takes it.
    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Mourinho is laughing because he knows there’s a 0% chance of us scoring a pen.
    Mystic Mou.

    Second half.

I said earlier he would get sent off.
If only Pep read this beforehand...

There it is 1 SHOT = 1 GOAL
    Efficient, eh?

Good grief...Spurs have won the world cup. **Another fan then responded with**: Wish we had half that passion. Some people don’t even stand up when we score at our place.

    2 shots 2 goals
    EFFICIENCY!!!

    Mourinho can **** right off.
I used to say that for years, now I can appreciate his ****housery.

    Season has been a disaster.
Second in the league, in the final of the league cup, still in the FA Cup and CL. What a shambles, you plastic ****.

Mou has used Tanganga as a stop gap fullback and its worked brilliantly
    Yes, yes it did.

    Post match thread:

I mean, how did we lose that?
Well you see it's quite complex, we scored two, you scored zero, so it somehow means we won.

18 shots for, 3 shots against & we lose 2-0.
    EFFICIENCYYYYYYYY!

Half the squad needs to go.
Times must be hard for you guys. Hopefully you can spend another half a £bn.

Sums our season up and I can’t wait for it to end
Jesus christ, these really are such an entitled bunch after being **** for decades.

Played the better football by a mile but we were poor in he last third and if you continually miss penalties like we do then we are always going to be vulnerable
Nice to see someone with some fair comments.

We all know who the better team was today I'd rather be a City fan than a team managed by Mourinho.
    Jose > Pep. Soz.
