Very professional set of highlights, thanks for posting.

I have to wonder, in the old days, when the hump in the pitch in the Milton end goalmouth would have seen that shot go in off the post.

People used to say it stretched the goal posts and made that goal bigger. It was levelled a few years ago.

Think I'd tinker with the system slightly for the next game. Instead of 2-1 up front I'd go 1-2. Semanyo and Lafferty up top, with Gooch as the attacking midfielder. As opposed to just one up front and two just behind. Oh and Scowen in for Dobson simply has to happen

This and I'm wondering if there is any news on Lynch, all quiet, hope he is Ok but would like to se Ozturk back in the middle of a back three, with Hume and O/9 as wing backs.

Agree about ozturk. Think Maguire been off a touch last 2 or 3 games. 3-4-1-2 for me.

Lynch was knocked unconscious so iirc the head injury rule will make him unavailable at the weekend.

I'm just a bit concerned for the lad, I suppose no news is good news but it looked a nasty one.

The Echo has issued a statement saying tests indicate that Lynch is not seriously injured and will issue further updates later in the week.

Having seen that - if I'm not mistaken, the ref didn't stop play immediately after the incident? I know it was a "few seconds" but still, the lad is unconscious FFS! You have to see that it's pretty serious a collision!

I suppose you could lay the blame at the feet of people like Jack Grealish and those who dive and go down at the feintest touch and roll about!

    From the Chronic:
Joel Lynch has been given the all-clear after being knocked unconscious in Sunderland's weekend defeat at Portsmouth - but he will undergo a scan on a rib injury that he suffered at Fratton Park.
Charlie Wyke is also set for a scan this week after he was substituted at half-time against Pompey due to a shoulder injury.
Black Cats centre-back Lynch was out for the count after colliding with goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin near the end of the game, but after lengthy treatment on the pitch he had come back round before he was stretchered off and taken by ambulance to hospital for a check-up.
Tests showed that Lynch's head injury was not as serious as was first feared, and he was released on Saturday night.
He will be monitored this week as he goes through the FA's concussion protocol, which will see him eased back into training, but which - assuming that there are no setbacks - could mean that the head injury will not rule him out of this weekend's game against promotion rivals Ipswich Town.
Lynch also took a heavy blow to the ribs in the same collision, and that is a bigger concern at present, with a scan necessary to check for any broken bones.

Scowen for Dobson is a no brainer because Dobson, quite frankly, isn't good enough. Now semenyo is here might aswell play him off the big man Lafferty.

There's only one to find out. Play him. Because I'm sorry but Dobson doesn't impress me one bit.

I've seen him have a couple of cracking games so I know he is good enough for this league, on his day at least. He's only 22 and I think he'll improve under Parkinson who seems to know what he's doing.

I wouldn't change much if anything to the regular starting lineup, a winning team is allowed one off day without anyone being dropped. Give them a chance to redeem themselves and if it doesn't happen drop them then. If anyone is knackered or their head isn't right then make a change but the Portsmouth match was a tough one and I wouldn't overreact to our poor performance.
