Massive, massive 3 points and although it is definitely true that the red card changed the game, and it is also definitely true that certain players had terrible games, overall it is impossible not to notice that slowly but surely, progress is being made. Hugo, for all his calamities and brain farts (almost had one where he came rushing out and collided with Tanganga), is still a step up on Gazza and it shows. The defence seems more assured with him back in the side. For all the stick I've given him this season, Aurier - penalty aside - actually had a very good game. Barely put a foot wrong and produced some excellent interplay with Lo Celso and later on with Lamela. Tanganga is an unbelievable talent for such a young and inexperienced player. His emergence has quite literally saved us £40-50m in the next window. I hope he manages to find Mahrez when he empties his pockets later. Poor bloke's loved ones will be worried sick by now. Lo Celso struggled to impose himself on the game but bloody hell he runs himself into the ground for the team. Son, aside from his goal, did almost nothing right all game. Similar to Norwich and Soton. He seems a bit lost at the moment but as long as he keeps scoring he has to keep playing. Delighted for Stevie - what a delightful piece of control and finish. You could see how much that goal meant to him and will instantly endear him to the fans. But MOTM for me was the birthday boy Harry Winks. Gave everything he had every minute of the game. Was literally everywhere he needed to be when they were on the attack and his powerful, driving run led to Zinchenko's dismissal and the game turning in our favour. Magnificent performance.
If Chavski drop points against Manure, and we can beat Villa, we'll be going to the Bridge with a chance of going 4th
I thought Jose ( The ultimate big game manager) got it right today..Well played Sir. I'm beginning to believe we could win something., after all. Maybe a few shillings on Spurs to win silverware within the next two season is a shrewd bet. You heard it here first...
Absolute miracle Dele's leg wasn't broken. And you can add Souness and his 'only a yellow cos Sterling's not that kind of player' bollocks to the list too
We were second best for the majority of the game but we were due a change of fortune in front of goal, and today we took two excellent goals. City are an excellent team and if they had a defence would be up there with Pool, we rode our luck at times and Hugo was superb bar one brain fart coming out of his goal. Still a lot of improving to do but we are now starting to find some defensive solidity (all good teams are built on a sound defense), even with the error prone Aurier and Sanchez in the team. Hopefully the defense is rebuilt in the summer along with a CF and DM.... well it better had be. VAR continues to be a complete farce and is just exposing the inconsistencies of the obviously biased officials even more than before, today they made several wrong decisions, they failed to send off Sterling for a blatant leg breaker tackle, failed to give Sterling a second yellow card after he dived and gave City a dubious penalty after there appeared to be no contact on Aguero. Hugo was also off his line when he saved the penalty. I make that Robertson, Capoue, Cantwell and today Sterling all should have been sent off against Mourinho`s Spurs for dangerous tackles, and all four escaped a red card. I would not be surprised if there is an anti Mourinho agenda among the referees. All in all a much needed 3 points, get out of there and move on, top four is back on and hopefully we can go on a run now. COYS
@remembercolinlee can you explain to these people that my comment was not breaking the "code". I wouldn't be foolish enough to we'll win this now. But surprise doesn't work. Need your decision on this.
Not sure who was co-commentating on BT but was definitely a scouser. His line of reasoning was "it should only be a yellow because there is no way Sterling would intend to harm an England team mate". You cannot make it up.
Stats: Tottenham have had 5 shots on target this season against Citeh and scored 4 goals , citeh have had 45 shots and scored 2 , **** happens
New Year New Decade New RCL says I forgive you ... But thst maybe cos I is off my tits on migrsine meds
I'd like to say we've turned the corner but......our 3 shots to their 18.Saved penalty.Ball hitting wood....and on another day City would have creamed us and won the Epsom Derby!. But,a clean sheet too. We don't do clean sheets. Maybe.....just maybe,we have a good chance of the cups now...……..?...…….and......4th?
I used to get them often an hour or so after a game.I always thought it was concusion.Seems it turned out to be sunlight! I'd have the Adam and Eve of a headache after!!!! I once lost my sight during a game. My fellow players thought I was drunk!!!!! These things would last for an hour or so before my sight returned.
My eyesight in my right eye goes black and white...used to scare the ****e out of me but have had them since I was a teenager so got used to it. They last for about 4-10 hours usually and the meds make me feel a bit spaced out for about a day afterwards...get 3 or 4 a year so not s big deal....just trippy!
