I think they likely will. The problem so far is that the largest % of voters are older voters and they are also the people with the highest % against legalisation. Even though overall in the country the appetite is for drug law reform. Canada, New Zealand, the US, Uruguay etc are all further along than we are on this and as more countries legalise the argument for not doing so ourselves diminishes. I expect within the next decade or so we may make the move to legalisation of weed.
I don't take drugs mate but I'm also fairly knowledgeable on the subject as it was my profession for many years. Alcohol is a drug, an unbelievably dangerous drug at that. The issue I personally have is, the government say it's ok to drink so 70% of households drink 4+ times a week. If you knew the cold hard facts you'd realise how crazy that is. That's not a dig at you btw, but I do think you should probably look into the differences you believe exist. I'm sat having a beer btw so I'm just as guilty
I actually think now is a prime time to legalise. Create an entirely new industry at a time we feel the pinch from brexit.
