The constant turn over of 8-10 players a year doesn’t help anyone. Allams contract offers must be absolutely shocking.
Is your objection with the silence in recent weeks, rather than the re-emergence today? The former would seem the fairer criticism to me, and its one that can be aimed at me (not that I've shushed anyone, I've simply not joined in).
Kinnel. That's rather concerning then! I know we haven't even really seen a couple of them yet, and I do believe a few of them are prospects ...... but .... the point is, 15 players and I just / still don't see how they fit together. Maybe it's just me, but it seems sort of like a random collection of footballers rather than a carefully curated 1st team squad under construction. Considering he's now brought in 15, there seems to be missing balance in several respects (positions, age, experience, talent v's workhorses, promise / potential v's proven at this level, and so on).
Of course the team were affected by having their 2 best players depart in 24 hours but if only 10,000 could be bothered to watch such players of course they would want to move to a bigger stage and of course,we can't afford to keep them. As for those who remain I think there are a lot of young talented players who need a bit of support and McCann needs time to think about how to mould them into an effective team. That was never going to happen today. Looking forward to seeing how they do at Reading next week with better support. No wonder our home record is awful and was with Bowen and Grosicki in the team.
Bit of both really. I had a moan a few weeks ago when we had people shushing us and being critical of us shouting Allam Out. Couldn’t understand then what had changed to cause people to decide they didn’t want the Allams out. If you accept something had changed (maybe reintroduction if limited concessions) then that’s still the case. However today all of a sudden............when we were losing, people started singing it again. Only thing that has changed is we’ve sold two players. In my opinion there’s loads of reasons to want them out, but I’m surprised that’s the one that suddenly caused people to want them out. I doubt they would have sung that if we’d been winning fickle
Fair points. All I can add is that I definitely want the Allams out, but I’ve got out of the habit of singing about it. People shushing you for singing are the real ****s here.
No issue with people not singing it. Only an issue with people flip flopping for weak reasons (they’ve come back to the ground, mustn’t upset them >>> they’ve sold players and we’re losing)
What a ****ing week. 3 home defeats, two televised with silly kick off times. We lose our two best larkers and attacking threat. Spectacular fail with the bid to tempt fans back. No longer looking up but looking down. Pivotal week right there.
Best case scenario: grind out enough points to avoid the drop. Worst case: massive loss of confidence and grim relegation battle in front of 4 figure crowds. Three years of selling anyone decent has finally revealed how limited our squad is.
If a week is long time in politics then it’s even longer in football. I think the optimism has been sucked out of the club. It’s not just the results and losing our best two players it’s the grim reality laid bare. There is nothing left in the silver chest now. I really hope that we can grind out a few wins to finish the season on 50 or so points. It’s the best we can hope for.
I think most of us expected getting beat by a good Brentford side, but that performance was woeful. Very little fight, and defensively we look all over the place. IMO, McCann with Bowen and Turbo gone needs to change the formation either to a 442, and when defending get the back 4 and midfield 4 well drilled whereby there is no room between the 2 banks of 4, then we might look more organised in defence. Alternatively, 352, with Elder or Fleming (bring him back from Bolton) and Lichaj or Wilks as wing-backs, Kingsley looks awful, then play 2 up top which might suit Eaves. We desperately need Stewart & Toral back, but why McCann isn't playing Batty whilst Stewart is out I've no idea. Finally, Burnsey seems to be getting some flack for saying aren't we now looking down rather than up. Lichaj has called it disrespectful saying that, but for me, he is quite within his rights to ask that question, as IMO that is what we will be doing for the remained of this season.
Burns is an utter tool and can't wait for us to fail,he should stick to chatting to old ladies on his "award winning show",and maybe take tws fan with him,the local media (hdm) included can't wait for city to fail, lets try and get positive and get behind the lads and the manager,we've lost two good players that is a fact, its happened before and we move on.....we are hull city.....we will be back!!!!
I don't think Burns is a 'tool'. I thought he played it right yesterday. A bit of inquiring as to where we go from here after an abysmal performance. Not enough fight in the team for me. We need a leader on the pitch. Correction, we need some leaders on the pitch. Don't know who. Stewart maybe?
