Unfortunately that proves my point, I said we are starting to play the same, lots of passing around but didn't go up.
After the game at Leeds, I remember Stam saying they played beautiful football 70% of the possession, we all laughed and said just the goals we got more of then, now that's what teams are saying to us.

    Yes, Pablo scored it, agreed.

But he was 10 yds from the corner flag when it hit him. 30 yds from the back post.

Your post says it was a back post free header. Not true. Not one of their players was anywhere near the back post, far less having a free header!

That's a great link, Rich. Had a root around. Harrison is our top guy for conversions. 14.1%, I think. 12.9 Bamford, 12.4 Roberts, 12.1 Alioski. Dismal reading for anyone else.

Had a quick look at the top 5 Championship goal scorers too. Rates of 34%, 30%, & 26%, if I remember correctly.

Another brilliant thing is that it gives you the pattern of each players passing - forward, back, left, right. Could someone give this link to Captain Jackboot so that he can see that most players' have a very similar pattern to Phillips! (he's blocked me). I think even Pablo's was very close! Get him to explain that one. Or just STFU.

We must have watched a different goal
Thought the players near the back post got the last touch when I first saw it, which was luke Ayling and their no 22,didn't realise it went straight in, when I saw it was an own goal I thought I must have been mistaken and it was Pablo on the back post, but it was the same, in at the back post, no one on the line, as on Tuesday. If your keepers **** in the air, why wouldn't you have a player on the back post.

Phillips created the most chances on the site I looked at, followed by Harrison and Pablo I think, unfortunately Bamford wasn't good on any stats, even had more backward passes than forward and created 19 chances to Phillips in the 50s.

Didn't go into chances. Was dizzy enough with the numbers I trawled through.

Btw, re. Bamford passing backwards more than forwards - surely you'd expect that from someone up top?

Put another way, wouldn't you be a bit concerned if Kiko passed more backwards than forwards? :)

Yes I was wrong where Pablo was, but the point I was making was right, in at the back, no defender on the back post. When they went over the millwall goals in training, surly Bielsa should have said where the fook is the man on the back post, and put it right for the next game, he obviously didn't or they took no notice of him, either way, very poor.

About where the deflection was, but not about no one on the back post. ;)

Yup, should have written that I agree with that. I've always believed on a man on each post, but have to admit that I may be a relic of the past with this thinking. Don't care - I'm like you & can't see past it.

Not really. If you're the hold up guy, furthest forward. You're supposed to be doing layoffs, cutbacks etc. to set up your runners.

The thing is, remember when Bamford blocked one on the line, then 20 seconds later scored before Christmas after running the length of the pitch, well if you look back at games, it seemed to be his job at corners, but he's no longer doing it and neither is anyone else.

Hard to compair as Eddie's stats aren't there, but others that they call forwards, Costa, Harrison and Roberts all have more forward passes but granted they aren't really forwards.

So Bielsa says we are making the same mistakes, and says we've done it in 18 games (not sure where he got that number from) but the question is what is he doing about it, and why are we not changing things then. Bamford, Harrison and Costa haven't scored a single goal from outside the box between them all season, are we trying to walk it in all the time ? So if a team packs the 6 yard box we don't score.
