This was the first game I really felt let down by the team and the manager
We were coasting, the Everton supporters were resigned to defeat as were the team and two stupid errors cost us in the first half and the substitutions cost us in the second
We can still do it but it gets tougher as the games run out
Bournemouth have been unstoppable since we thrashed them at home, that's what we have to do now

Pearson has said Chalobah had a back strain.

Hughes would have been a better option - keeping the ball well and provides defensive cover in midfield.

He said he wanted to go to 442, and did not want to leave Chalobah on if he was struggling!!! Fair comment....but that tactical change cost us I think. I think staying with our formation would have yielded the win eventually, but it was a decision that was made in an attempt to win, so cannot really complain. The problem was that we lost the midfield at that point, and then success coming on essentially made us significantly less effective.

I have just watched MOTD and it was all about Everton's come back with 2 jammy headers from corners and last minute lucky break away goal. No analysis of our superb first half performance and 2 excellent goals.

Talk of handball for the 1st goal by Mina but then we know now to rely on VAR!

It was so odd. I definitely saw handball. Genuinely. I called it at the time and as soon as it said ‘VAR checking possible handball’ I breathed a sigh of relief. Then not given. I assume it has been ruled accidental, but that’s not how I saw it. I’ve looked at all the replays and can’t see what I saw live. Did my eyes mistake me? Is it a question of angles? The cameras were not at the same angle I was, and it was clear to me. But I can’t see it.

Doesn't matter if handball is accidental now for an attacker - usually gets given.

Yeah, I’m not sure I hold with that, if you excuse the pun. I do think common sense should apply, even if it becomes a talking point, I think we are reverting to a blanket decision, which doesn’t sit well, to mix my metaphors thoroughly. ;)

Just watched the Sky extended highlights
The ball for the first goal only went where it did because it was handball, that's what threw everyone had he headed it Foster would probably have had it covered
How many more times is VAR going to rob us of victories

Does it show that, duggie? I’ve only seen it a couple of times, and didn’t see the the handball on the telly. Glad I’m not going mad. At least, I’m taking this as evidence of that.

Tony Gale was convinced it was handball rather than headed and should have been disallowed
And on the Sky replays it shows he did not head it at all

Sound a bit like it was his own fault for reacting when he came back on but they should have made him stay whilst the check the orginal decision.

This was a handball and a penalty according to the ref.

Yes Everton always get the decisions going there way
When we were robbed in injury time last year they got a free kick from a foul on Kabasele
The year before that Holebas sipped in the penalty area and the Everton player managed to trip over him for a penalty
