We’re ****ed. Our midfielders spent all game defending and we had nothing up top. playing joelinton is like having 10 men from the outset.
5-2-3, which we play, is a ****ing bollock of a formation, because it's 7 at the back with no link to the forwards. There's not enough support in the middle. 5-3-2 makes marginally more sense - but we don't have 2 strikers. We don't actually have 1 striker. It highlights yet again what a buffoon Ashley is, what an idiot Charnley is and why a model with some random dickhead - Nickson - picking your players doesn't work. Rafa knew he couldn't play as a lone striker, we bought him anyway. Bruce doesn't know what to do so sticks with Rafa's plan....which obviously won't suit Joelinton. It's utter, absolute, mind-blowing madness. I don't have a clue how professional footballers couldn't just switch to 4-2-3-1. It's hardly a quantum leap and suits our players, with Almiron, Ritchie, Max, Lazaro all options in various positions. Surely Hayden/Bentaleb are disciplined enough to hold midfield and with Rose, Yedlin, Manquillo and again Lazaro we're ok there. Surely Lascelles and Schar can be partners in there???? It all just screams "I'M STEVE BRUCE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING".
yeah its arsenal away we need are best players to stay up.. next season being wtf does a cup run matter ?
They'll both be gone in the summer if that halfwit is still here. Imagine playing 2nd fiddle to Lascelles and Fernandez when you're that good
Cheer up man. Let's just go and at least try and win the cup, 5 games away from achieving something. Our performances have been shocking but we only need 9 more points for the magic 40
Shar and Lejeune are made of paper. Wasn't Lejeune injured when we bought him? It wouldn't surprise me if they're unfit or if in his Everton cameo Lejeune pulled something. Last season, Lejeune only managed 12 league appearances and this season he's at 6. He just can't play week in week out, he's too injury prone. Schar should play.
Anyone else notice that Grant Hanley, our 5th choice CB who is championship standard at best not only had the captains arm band for Norwich... but safely tucked Joelinton into his back pocket all game?
Joelinton being utter **** would explain that. The man cannot do even the basics, can't even handle a pass to his feet. Don't care if he's playing for Grimsby Town, I'd expect to see a glimpse of some basic talent at some point. I haven't seen it.
Probably not but at least try otherwise what's the point of even being a football club. The bigger teams left in the competition we have already beaten some of them this year so its not unfeasible that we could do it again. We won't, but we are almost safe so let's at least try
This is true, still can't understand how he walked straight back into the team at the expense of Schar who up till then was one of our best players
